This was my worst experience being in The Hosteller. I travel frequently and have stayed in other locations in Hosteller itself like, Shimla, Almorha, Amritsar. But this property was a nightmare. The approach area is so damn risky, there is no road that exists I drove roughly 500kms in mountains it was not that risky in comparison to this last 190meters.||Next comes the reception, the people handling the property are not properly groomed. The man at the reception seemed always high. They were infact smoking continuously in room 102 just adjacent to the reception.||To our surprise we were told that the cafe is not operational for the next two days as the chef had to leave due to an emergency. We understood the situation and made our own food arrangement’s. Next comes surprise when someone comes in next day and says that the cafe will work. We ordered Cheese Maggi got burnt veg Maggie.. we ordered tea it was pathetic… in the night we ordered plain Dal Rice and it was stale with poor quality ghee used. My daughter ate one spoon and I tasted it too and we just left it cause we understood that it was stale and rotten food. We had our flight today and I did not want at-least my daughter to fall sick. They did offer to change the food but it was already 11pm and they take a lot of time in arranging anything.. we declined and not to my surprise my daughter and I both started puking and had bad stomach infection by morning…||There was no electricity or power back up from 1am in the morning and it was raining cats and dogs and probably it was only us 3 girls in the property in one room and no one really bothered to check on us. It was scary and we had to do all the packing and we got ready with the help of our phone torch early morning as we had to leave by 5am anyhow.||Again we did inform them that we will be checking out early morning and no one was available at front desk we just left the keys at the reception.||This was one of the worst experience that i have ever had and I will never recommend this property to anyone. There is no sense of responsibility that they hold. Please if you are travelling with only family and especially girls never book...
Read morePros - There are not many good hotels around. My preference being good rooms( clean, fair enough room size with balcony)....this was satisfied with appropriate pricing.
Cons- Hospitality /Service- As an example -Water needs to be refilled from filters on different floors. This might make sense for hostelers sharing rooms but not for family or couples. We look for hospitality which was below average. Room service for dining - Not available. Was raised while check-in. No hand towel besides wash basin but placed toilet paper as replacement for hand Towel. No toilet paper with commode.( Not sure of the mindset if they r expecting to pull from besides the wash basin which is weird) Bathing Towels quality - Below Average. Road condition - This is worst. Damn steep and all broken with boulders along the road which made it very tough and risky to cross and reach the destination. They have parking space of 4-5 cars post which they suggest to park somewhere far on road without any safety or security( no gaurds). Food - The price is as per other good hotels but the offering in terms of quantity and quality is below average.I will share my experience - We opted dinner while online booking for 2 which we got to know would include a Thali with chach n gulab jamun thru instagram ( this is not documented on der website). But when we enquired from reception about the menu, they just told about Thali. While we started having dinner only Thali was served without chach n sweet. The staff didn't want to serve sweets n chach actually. While we raised it, they said we were about to do that post u finish eating Thali. I am not sure who drinks chach post consumption of food. Menu should b displayed very clearly which was not done anywhere. The chapati in thali was without butter/ ghee which wen raised they suggested this is how we serve. So over-all experience with...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of staying at The Hosteller Khajjiar, a newly launched property that has quickly become a favorite. Despite being open for just 15 days, our experience was nothing short of exceptional.
We booked a quadruple room and were pleasantly surprised by its beauty and comfort. The room was spacious, well-furnished, and offered a stunning view from the balcony.
The service was good overall, but what truly stood out was the extraordinary assistance provided by the receptionist, Daljit Thakur. He not only helped us with check-in but also went above and beyond to create a personalized itinerary and map to ensure we had a memorable stay. His recommendations for offbeat places to visit were spot-on, making our trip truly unique.
The cafe at The Hosteller Khajjiar deserves special mention for its delicious food and excellent service. We enjoyed every meal we had there, with each dish being a delightful experience in itself.
The property is situated in a picturesque location, offering breathtaking views of the surroundings. It's evident that a lot of thought has been put into designing the place to blend seamlessly with its natural environment.
Overall, our stay at The Hosteller Khajjiar was fantastic. The combination of great hospitality, delicious food, and beautiful surroundings made it a memorable experience. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway in Khajjiar.
We look forward to...
