ROOMS The rooms are well-appointed. In fact, they are ultra-modern, with their central consoles.
During my stay, the rooms and bathrooms were really clean, and there was clean linen and towels. I mention this specifically because some hotels don't focus on the cleanliness aspect.
STAFF They are extremely courteous.
The person who answered when I rang up room service took the time to enquire if I wanted tea prepared in Indian style. Tea was great.
I also liked their uniforms - it is more relaxed and gives you the feeling that you are in a resort and not a hotel.
That is indeed a good touch.
FOOD I had dinner first after I arrived at the hotel.
What stood out was the chicken caesar salad. Cold chicken is an art, and it takes a stroke of genius to make it work. Although I can't honestly say that it was the best I have ever tasted, it was definitely the best I had in years!
Lunch on the following day was excellent.
LOCATION It is close to the Our Lady of Vallarpadam Basilica, a Marian shrine and a national pilgrimage centre.
OTHER AMENITIES I didn't experience the swimming pool or the basketball court firsthand, but I did enjoy both the pedal boat and the row boat. The only thing I noticed was that people have to bend down/lower their heads when passing underneath the bridges on the waterway. This is a hazard, and I'm not sure whether it is because the water level was higher on that day owing to the rains or a design defect.
Overall, I had a most pleasant stay. It is a great value-for-money...
Read moreStayed with family for a day in two rooms. I should say rather not a great expected experience from this place. Initially they forgot to pull out booking from the booking site so our rooms are not ready. Staff attitude: The staff there seems to be blank other than a few good ones. Most of them didn't seem to care or bother about our little feedback or complaints. Pathetic Breakfast: Breakfast was supposed to be a buffet but they cut the cost by only keeping cold items like bread, fruits, juice and coffee in the buffet and told us to order from the kitchen but didn't give us any option yet they charged for the same. Discomfort in Rooms: All rooms are equipped with control boxes for lights ,fan and AC. But it is placed on the far side of the bed and couldn't be controlled via a remote. So every time we have to reach out to that. To make matters worse the data cable connected to that kept coming out. Washrooms: One of the rooms we rented has a very slippery floor and the bath water kept running all over the bathroom floor and made the floor nasty and Slippery. Amenities: Fresh towels , linens, locker were provided along with wardrobes. Also there was no dental kit or bathroom slippers provided with the room. We didn't get a good response when we asked for it. Room service: Really expensive. They charge for everything including water bottles.
Children park needs lots of maintainece and attention. Positives:
Plenty of parking Big and neat pool Spa (we don't have the opportunity to enjoy...
Read moreStayed there from 3rd to 4th of November. The room was an executive room. Initially had issues with light flickering due to the power key. Thankfully that was fixed later on. Ordered for water and that costed Rs. 40 for an MRP of Rs. 15 and on asking for the reason the front desk said it is service charge. Then they called another front desk guy and he called over the Sales Manager Sreejith. His reply was that "that is how it is here" which is not the response we would have expected to hear from a Sales Manager(Sreejith). Finally he said "if you can't pay don't pay, we will think of it as charity". Initially he said that we could use the facility after checkout till 12.30pm and after this water issue he was like "Sorry the checkout is 11am and you can't use it after that. Please leave now. We till now didn't think of putting chemical in the pool but now I decided we have to put in chemical." Is this how a Sales Manager of a 4 star hotel responds?
There were cleanliness issues including cockroaches and plumbing issues. The sink in the bathroom wasn't even draining out neither was the water draining out from the shower area. In the activity area we requested them to switch on the Airconditioner but they didn't even bother after several requests.
This is not expected from a 4 star hotel and we were utterly disappointed. Even though the food was decent, the service was an utter...
