The place was one of our best accommodations in Bali and Lombok. Mainly because of the amazing reggae vibe, authentic living style, and very laid back atmosphere. On the terrain, multiple friends and family live. This results in spontaneous jam sessions in the evenings, laid back conversations about living in East Lombok, and great food and drinks. The place has 3 clean bungalows spread over the place which give you the feeling you live in the mountains. The view is truly astonishing, it's on a mountain where you live in the jungle and look right into the jungle. Also, if you climb down the mountain via their backyard (the view from your room), you access rice fields and waterfalls. They offer guided tours (tradition lifestyle, panoramic view, but also to climb the Rinjani) which are worthwhile (and very cheap), but if you want to explore on your own you're free to go. Food is great, especially their homemade breghendel (maïs, egg, flour, onion, all fried). Also, when we asked for a driver to go to Senggigi, they offered to share their car with another couple to save money. ||The rooms are quite basic and small, but that didn't bothered us too much. No mosquito net was provided but we could hang our own one. They have some pets (cat and dog) which are very cute but can hang around your food too much. Our shower had a hot and cold option, but this didn't work properly resulting in hot cold hot cold. Also, they have no WiFi standard but if you need it you can ask and they'll get a WiFi transmitter you can...
Read moreThere are four bungalows on the property now, I had one of the garden view bungalows which was situated a little closer to the small valley than the others. Although the property is quite a long way from the main village you do get the sense of being in the rainforest. There are walks available, guided or not guided depending on how adventurous you are. The key point to Tetebatu Garden is the friendliness of the owner and staff. By coincidence three groups were checking out at the same time, so on the last evening the owner organised a small bonfire for everyone to sit around, chat, listen to live acoustic music and drink local rice wine. If you want to get away from the beaches and enjoy some cooler weather in a beautiful setting then Tetebatu Garden could be a...
