Disappointed….
We originally booked 2 rooms for 6 nights but stayed only 3. The view is incredible but We were so disappointed by the place in general.
The rooms are not like advertised and not well maintained as in : broken doors and door handle & walls, filthy sink and shower, shower fixed with tape in one room, no mosquitos net in certains rooms, mirror missing in certains rooms, holes in the rooms structure & no protected by mosquito net, brown water coming from sink and toilet, room full of mosquitos, filthy kettle (had to borrow one of our neighbors). We found tons of mosquitos and 2 big spiders. We also were disappointed by the limited breakfast option (one slice of bread cut in 2 or one pancake only with jam/honey) and we find twice hair in our pancake & omelette (we had to order bread to be sure not to have some) also the tea cup were not clean (& stained) so some of us choose to ask for water bottle instead because of the lack of hygiene. They don’t have fruits and juice is not included with your coffee/tea (coffee is not good). We also did not have any service done in one of the room several times. The staff were friendly but reluctant to remplace our towels (we had to insist to have new towels in room). Also everything that staff are selling (water/scooter/taxi etc) is way more expensive than other places so we felt ripped and choose not to spend any more money there. We booked those rooms as they are advertised on booking as « deluxe room » but they are unfortunately rundown. The general feeling is that the rooms are dirty and « unhealthy » and we ended up finding a better place nearby HALF PRICE than this one with a top level service & clean/well maintained rooms. Note that we let the owner know our thoughts about this place hoping that he will improve and fix it to avoid other travelers to have the same bad experience (he is apparently not on site). Also note that the road is a narrow broken way and difficult to access. It’s sad because the view is incredible and with some improvements (work in room & better breakfast/service) this place would be great (for the view the amok restaurant is next door and has the...
Read moreThe apartment is located close to the beach, approximately a 10-minute walk away, and offers a nice ocean view. The bedroom is fine. The toilet had an unpleasant odor, and the shower water leaked onto the floor, leading to a perpetual mess. The food was decent, but nothing exceptional, prompting me to dine elsewhere. The Wi-Fi was quite poor, and the electricity supply wasn't in the best condition - the boiler and phone charging took nearly double the usual time.
The most disappointing aspect was the owner's service. Initially, they offered a friendlier approach but proposed nearly double the price for a fast boat and a scooter compared to the online price that we paid, claiming it as a 'special deal.' During our four-night stay, the owner became unresponsive for a few days, citing their absence at a temple ceremony (for two days?). We also utilized their laundry service without being informed of the cost upfront, only to discover it was twice as expensive as any other laundry service in town - charging us 8 euros for a small bag. Upon receiving the clothes on our last day, we found numerous stains on them. Despite our request for reimbursement, they were uncooperative, providing frivolous excuses, and so they told us they don’t own the laundry and don’t have contact information of them (what is impossible) and they already paid and that’s why they can’t give us money back. After long discussion they refunded around 20%, but the clothes remained stained, necessitating further washing (and it was pretty challenging to remove the stains).
It seemed apparent that the host prioritized money over customer satisfaction. It was the first such bad experience at the end of our otherwise long and enjoyable trip. We felt deceived and taken advantage of, this influenced our mood of course.
Even the place itself is pretty, I WOULDN’T recommend this place to stay. There are a lot of other apartments...
Read moreThis was my first time to Indonesia and Bali. I contacted this hotel a few months before I travelled and they were incredibly helpful and kind, helping me organise travel such as taxis, boats, tours. They were excellent and I would recommend them extremely highly. They helped me for my whole trip, a month and there were no problems at all. They seemed to know everyone and organised a lot of great trips. The accommodation is superb. Five bungalows overlooking the straits between Nusa Penida and Nusa Ceningan with Mount Agung in the distance. I was here a week and never stopped looking at the view; wonderful sunsets and sunrises, always something to look at. The accommodation is out of the way along bumpy tracks which was perfect for me. It’s a bit of an adventure. The bungalow was cleaned every day and was very comfortable. There is a really nice friendly restaurant with great food. It’s like being in a small family, they are so kind and welcoming. All the guests I met loved the place and there was a nice atmosphere about the place. There’s a bar a few minutes away which looks very nice and a bit pricey, however I was happy to stay at Sakti. The nearest beach, Gamat Bay, is about 10 minutes away down a path which is entertaining but safe. The beach was usually deserted and there were some very fine corals to see when snorkeling. One note, be very careful when getting in and out. Completely my fault, I fell over and got a bit scratched. Nothing much and the hotel helped me out, as usual. They are really nice! For my first week in Bali and Nusa Penida this was a wonderful start to the holiday. I will definitely go back. Very highly recommended....
