I have a love/hate feeling about this amazing hotel. The location is incredible and has fabulous views and has SOO much potential. It is new and very modern and spacious and could be wonderfully impressive. The staff are just great and couldn’t do enough. || The relaxing room had a lovely big log burning fire but the chairs are all, almost without exception, incredibly uncomfortable .... going for chic/funk as opposed to comfort. At night, the lighting is so dim that it is almost impossible to read anything, which is a shame as there are some amazing books to be looked at. ||The relaxing/dining room is a very impressive room with two entire glass walls, floor to ceiling, and two log burners, but it lacks any atmosphere once dark, and again, ALL the chairs are impossibly uncomfortable ….. we tried them all!!. I felt that it needed plants and maybe coloured tablecloths/soft furnishings to bring some colour and softness into the room. The lighting at night is so dim that even with two candles we were not able to read the wine list …… we ended up using the lights on our phones!!||The bedroom was lovely and conversely, was very cosy. The bathroom was great although it boasted an extraordinary miniature loo and hand basin for children. I nice gesture I guess, but not really necessary. The beds were very uncomfortable although we were told that new beds re on order. There were no mattress covers or pillowcase liners which I found absolutely amazing in this day and age. It is basic hygiene. I have to say that I was truly shocked.||The ski room was great and we liked the idea of waving our ski pass in front of the icon and our locker opening. And the boot and glove heaters were a really nice touch. It was also great to be able to ski straight to the steps.||We didn’t use the spa so cannot comment on that but it did look wonderful and we both said that we wished that we had made time to be spoilt!!||The food was very hit and miss. Breakfast was a bit chaotic on the mornings that we stayed. The bread was awful …. Stale and crumbly, and no choice. (the lovely brown bread we were given at night never appeared in the mornings!!) No pastries. The little fancy brown paper bags of cereal looked great but were totally impractical for the numbers that they were catering for. The cooked breakfast was really good if you didn’t have fried eggs which were still totally raw with the whites still see through jelly ….two mornings running!! Bacon was good though! We had one very good dinner, our first. Our second was not such a success and our third was almost entirely inedible. We felt really bad about not being able to eat it. Along with the unfortunate courses before the main, the steaks were so tough that no amount of ‘sawing’ was making any impression at all! We noticed that everyone sent theirs back untouched that night …… obviously a bad night!! I think they were trying to be too clever. Simplicity with good flavours are always a safe bet. Yuo could see that the staff felt very awkward that they were taking plates back to the kitchen with so much food untouched course after course. I really felt for them as they kept apologising.|| I feel that this place is a work in progress and am sure that they will eventually get it right. I know that the owner is very keen to listen, so I have high hopes for it. It is an amazing experience to stay here ….. do...
Read moreThe location is great, and the only reason why this hotel deserves one star! Otherwise the service is just non existent, if you dare to even try and order a coffee in the morning you will get told off by the very unpleasant and rude stuff that the equally unpleasant and rude owner employs! The food isn't great, but they do have a good selection of wines. Cleanliness seems to be another issue at the hotel, towels and sheets are simply not changed. Also if you do decide to come here, make sure you get a room on the third floor and away from the staircase as it is extremely noisy and frankly you can hear your neighbours whispering! Also the second and first floors sport very unpleasant dark and cold rooms. |The wellness area, does have a nice view. |But please when you check out read your bill very carefully!!!! As they have the habit of overcharging and including charges that you did not incur! The worst part is when you try to reason with them the owner, who seems to be the only person able to use a computer refuses to refund you and starts shouting and waving his hands around whilst trying to articulate a half assed excuse as to why he included 200 euros extra on your bill!!! In conclusion very rude staff poor accommodation and nerve racking rudeness that can and will ruin your holiday! If you want this location there are other hotels in the area, I suggest you book one of them! Have a...
Read moreI booked this hotel as I was drawn by the minimal style of its hall/dining area, beautiful spa...and paid a hefty 250 euros per night for 2 persons half board. I really didn't expect to find a dusty and cold 2 star bedroom (see pictures) with an 80s/90s decor in desperate need of refurbishment. The bathroom was very tiny...with its half-size bathtub.||Dinner is served at 19.30 sharp and the menu is set (you could ask for variation in case of allergies or something...but there are no options to choose from)...the service is so slow you're left sitting nearly in the dark (no that's not a romantic atmosphere!) on uncomfortable chairs for 2 hours!||The starter salad buffet is more like a bag of salad and 5 tomatoes!||The rest of the food was good...but by the time everything was served I really lost my appetite. ||The spa area was very nice.||As you are up on the mountains personnel leaves at 11...except for a guard.||All in all I felt it was a ripoff...they renovated visible parts but left the most important bedroom and bathrooms untouched. ||Personnel was nice and professional||Won't...
