33€/night for 2 people in "Concept room"/Deluxe double room with shared bathroom.
Pros/positive: Very good value for money (in Tokyo). Friendly staff. Clean, spacious room. Probably the biggest budget accommodation room we had in Japan. Well-equipped room with coat hangers, TV, bin, fridge, several lamps, AC, "mirror fit" workout gadget, chair.. Clean bathroom areas with toiletries. Clean, comfortable common areas with free coffee/tea, access to microwave/toaster/fridge, electrical outlets at most tables. Quiet, non touristy area, close to metro station. Asakusa in walking distance. Elevator.
Cons/negative: AC flap adjustment broken. The Airstream was pointed directly at the bed. Worst was the staff reaction, offering no help or compensation. Told me air shouldn't be pointed at smoke detector because of a fire or something like this, but there weren't even any sensors around the AC. In general, you can't expect the extreme hospitality and politeness here, which is shown in many Japanese establishments. Bed was a futon on the floor and rather uncomfortable. The only curtain barely blocked light and it was really bright, difficult to sleep. The mirror fit was either broken or I simply couldn't get it to start. Either way, be aware that there's a mirror with a big camera...
Read moreIt was one of the cheapest options we found for Tokyo but was still £320 for 5 nights, so not as budget as hostels we are used to, but quite cheap for Japan.
We had a standard double room with shared bathroom. The room was very small and difficult to move around in as a couple as most of the floor space is taken up by a mattress on the floor. There’s no storage beyond two hangers on the wall (which we used for our towels) so can quite easily get messy.
Our aircon worked well but the room smelled really badly of damp. We realised that the smell was actually the demumidifier machine, so we turned it off, but that means the room was likely too humid.
We found the bed comfy enough and thankfully slept quite well however there’s only a very flimsy curtain over the window so it’s really really bright. You need an eye mask to sleep.
The showers and toilets were always clean and we never had to wait to use one, so that was a plus. Was grateful to have a sink in the room itself. Hairdryers in each bathroom provided.
We loved the Kuramae area though and would recommend staying there to avoid the chaos of Shibuya and Shinjuku. Walkable to Asakusa and very close to multiple metro lines, so we found very convenient.
Would recommend for budget travellers if they can get a...
Read moreThe hosts were kind people. In word of mouth, there were some good reviews and some that didn't, so I guess I was able to get a good one.
Most of the users are inbound guests.
The dormitory is quite narrow and only on the second floor.
The 3rd to 5th floors are all private guest rooms, which are accepted by inbound guests.
I think that's the reason.
The water pressure of the shower also seems to be popular.
Subtle points
For Japanese people, guest rooms and facilities,
You may feel that the place is not enough.
In particular, the dormitory has small private rooms and shared spaces, and there are no separate men and women,
Men are wandering around with their upper bodies, such as changing clothes, and probably most women,
I'm very careful.
This is a negative point.
Also, the toilet smells from the dormitory floor.
The shared toilet on the private room floor was relatively clean.
It's a hassle for female guests, but we recommend that, including the shower.
The air conditioning was quite strong, and I felt considerate.
It was a structure that seemed difficult to clean.
Perhaps a plus point is that inbound guests can use private rooms instead of dormitories at a favourable price.
The private room in the dormitory is full, and the curtains are also
Because it is a shutter type, for those with large bodies
I think it's cramped.
In general, if you can use a private room, it might be recommended.
I think.
As for the location, it is quite far from the station.
Not too close, not too far.
Convenience changes depending on the person.
Although it is as shown in the picture, it is a compact construction as a whole.
The public space on the first floor is substantial, but I'm worried about the gaze from around me,
Becoming a landmark of the building. To the whole
Cosy with compact construction, depending on the person
I think it's a place where we have different tastes.
Amenities are minimal, but hand paper is everywhere, so you can keep your hand washing clean.
I was informed that I could drink black tea for free.
I think it's a very good service.
Although there are also convenience stores nearby,
A bad location that somehow feels far away.
Compared to the surrounding area, the price is a little higher
I was curious. However, with a long history
It looks like a hostel. Inbound guests are
If you have the same hostel when you visit again
You must be happy. Because Japanese hotels and hostels are vigourously rebuilt.
Even so, with the eyes of the Go board, which is flat without a slope,
Because it's a quiet location
I think it will suit the person who fits.
It's average as a general review.
The host was kind. Thank you very much.
Overall,
In a short stay
How about medium and long-term people?
I don't know.
I'd be happy if I could help you even a...
