My parents have stayed at Little Governors’ Camp many times, and this year they brought my husband and me along on the adventure. While the camp itself is stunning and the experience unforgettable, what truly stood out to us was the exceptional customer service and warmth of the staff.
From the moment we arrived, we felt cared for in every detail: • Emmanuel, our waiter, went above and beyond with his warm smile and attention to every need, making each meal special. • Kennedy greeted us often and always ensured we were comfortable and well taken care of. • Bernard, our lovely boatman, made the crossing such a pleasure. My mom especially looked forward to the boat rides, and Bernard graciously taught us some Swahili along the way. • Denzel was so kind to my 77-year-old mother, helping her safely to and from her tent and on and off the boat—something she was incredibly grateful for. • Felix was attentive, remembered our drinks, and shared wonderful conversations while teaching us more Swahili. • At the gift shop, Florence went out of her way to secure the sizes and items I needed from another camp and had them waiting in my tent by evening—such thoughtful service. • Sarah organized our balloon ride flawlessly and made sure my mother was always comfortable and happy during our stay. She also shared fun stories and history about the camp, which made us feel even more at home.
The entire team made sure my mom was kept warm and comfortable, even providing extra blankets on game drives and in her tent. These small but meaningful gestures made such a difference.
We had a fabulous time at Little Governors’ Camp, thanks to the staff who made us feel less like guests and more like family. We will definitely...
Read moreWe had the most incredible stay at Little Governors’ Camp in the Maasai Mara for the first leg of our honeymoon. From the moment we arrived, the experience was nothing short of magical.
A very special mention must go to Benard Koros, who made our safari truly unforgettable. His deep knowledge of the Mara, the wildlife, and the landscape brought every game drive to life. Thanks to him, we not only saw the animals (including the Big Five) but also learned so much about their behaviors and the ecosystem – his passion and expertise shone through every day.
Equally memorable was the wonderful service from George & David during mealtimes. They made every dining experience warm, welcoming, and seamless – nothing was ever too much trouble, and their friendly manner made us feel right at home. In fact, every single member of staff was outstanding – always smiling, always attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay special.
The tents were extremely comfortable and spotless, blending luxury with that perfect sense of being close to nature. Falling asleep to the sounds of wildlife all around us was an adventure in itself – we even heard elephants right by our tent at night, their ears flapping in the dark!
We also did the balloon safari, which was absolutely fabulous. Floating above the Mara as the sun rose was breathtaking, and our pilot – a fellow Scot like us – made the whole experience even more memorable.
Little Governors’ Camp exceeded every expectation. It’s not just the beautiful setting, but the incredible people who make it such a unique and unforgettable place. We cannot recommend it highly enough and can’t wait to...
Read moreThis is an amazing place! Animals right outside your tent! Tent facilities are nice given the location. We had power in the lent 24/7. There was one box which mad multiple plugs for all international plugs and a lot of USB slots to charge devices. Bathrooms in the tent are really nice given you are in the jungle.
The entire staff is amazing, from all the restaurant staff, guards, porters, drivers. They really do everything possible to make sure you have a great experience. They are all so friendly. Anthony and Regina were great. Moses our driver was so nice and informative.
My only recommendations would be the following: Food. A lot of the times the food had no taste. The best was the aloo paratha, it was amazing, but the rest really could use some work. Often times we just stuck to bread and cheese. But given the location I am willing to let that go. I didn't come to Kenya for gourmet meals. The tents do not lock. So it left me carrying some items around with me all the time. The front desk does offer a safe but these were things like a laptop I needed from time to time.
One more thing to really look out for depending on your intent - ask for the newer jeeps. These are more open than the other ones where the car frame may obstruct your views. Also the new ones have plugs to charge your devices if you are out for...
