I spent the weekend of my 30th birthday at Dusuntara with a group of friends and we had a truly memorable time. It's very easy to get there from KL on the train and Hawa and Kamal picked us up for the scenic drive in the 4x4s back to their magnificent lodge. The lodge really is a labour of love, having been built by the couple and consequently, it felt like staying with family - we were made so welcome. We really looked forward to Hawa's cooking each meal time - the food was wonderful! During the day we had a relaxing time by the pool and in the evening made full use of the karaoke machine! Kamal and Hawa were so thoughtful and really made sure I had a special weekend - although alcohol isn't available at the lodge, we were able to bring our own and Kamal made sure we had plenty of ice to keep our beers chilled! They also were able to organise a surprise birthday cake at the request of my friend - really going above and beyond! I thoroughly recommend Dusuntara - if you want a break from the city, a place where you can be looked after and feel at home then this is the place for you! Thank you...
Read more12 of us spent one night at Dusuntara. We drove down to Econsave, Batang Kali where Kamal was waiting for us. Right from coordinating the stay, the drive, the beauty of the resort, cleanliness and stay, Kamal's touch is there in everything. Him and his wife took wonderful care of us. The place is right in the middle of a forest with a swimming pool and two lovely little chalets for stay. We were welcomed with delicious tea and snacks. The tea was the best we've ever had. It felt like the whole place belonged to us. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The pool is the highlight and we spent the whole time in and around the pool. The price is incredibly worth spending considering the place, the amenities, food and the effort Kamal had to take. Recommended for a group of 10-12 for the...
Read moreBeing picked up by a 4x4 you might expect that the drive up could be a little bumpy, and it is indeed. You might start to challenge, whether relaxation could start this way. However, from the beginning you have no doubt that you are welcome, and you should feel at home. ||||If you are looking for homely, open-minded relaxation and just plainly a good time, then this is the right place. There are not a lot of rules at Dusuntara, but relax, be yourself, and shorts/swimwear only. And the place is clean, homely, comfortable, and very relaxing.||||On top of all that, Hala(Kamal's wife) is a brilliant cook and served some of the best food that I have had in Malaysia. My batteries are recharged, and I am ready for the week to come. I can only recommend it...
