I did LOTS of research to find the best place in Todos Santos for my husband and I to spend our 5 year anniversary and Osprey San Pedrito was DEFINITELY the right choice. It is located on the beach in San Pedrito, walking distance to the San Pedrito surf break (important for my surfer hubby) and close driving distance to Todos Santos (where all the shops/restaurants/etc are). Also close to El Pescadero for groceries, some restaurants, and tiny shops. ||This place was SO relaxing! Right on the beach, beautiful views, really quiet, and clean. So wonderful to sleep to the sound of the waves. We stayed in the "Palapa Suite." It is one room with a full kitchen and living room area. All rooms have ocean views. Off of the living room is an awesome 30 ft palapa just for that room! Next to our suite (and accessible by a door between in case you wanted to rent both) was the "Surf Suite" which is a two bedroom with a kitchen. Above both of those is the "Osprey Nest" which is the entire 2nd floor with awesome views - one bedroom with kitchen (see pics of the rooms at http://www.bajaosprey.com/suites.html)||Anyway - can't say enough about this place. It was perfect. And the manager, Leslie, was amazing. So friendly and helpful. She lent us some DVD's and offered a DVD player for us to use. She even had some coffee beans for us since we forgot ours! ||Do a lot of research when looking for a beachfront place near Todos Santos. Many are near the beach, but not on it. Some are on it, but not facing it (believe it or not)!! Some are really far away from Todos Santos. This one is truly a gem! ||PS - Leslie and the neighbor were also talking about installing a pool for both to use, so there very well may be a pool there by this...
Read moreThe Northeast U.S. has endured another fairly brutal winter. To have been spared even as little of a week of it - in such beautiful surroundings - was certainly a treasure.||||Property manager Giovanni was very responsive to our needs, but never intrusive. Our one stove issue was addressed within minutes after I sent an email.||||We did find the kitchen supplies to be somewhat limited, and as a result we didn't cook quite as many of our meals as we might have otherwise. For example, we didn't have sharp knives or a cutting board, and while we did find a juicer, it didn't work. Fortunately there were plenty of great dining options - both in Pescadero and in Todos Santos - but part of the allure of an oceanside casita with a kitchen is the option of cooking at home with fresh, local ingredients.||||We found WiFi to be somewhat intermittent for us. This was particularly important for my wife, as she owns her own business and therefore needed to work for a few hours each day. We did figure out where and when the signal was strongest, and for the most part were able to work around it, but we also had to avail ourselves of other internet resources (like the nearby Baja Beans) in order to make sure we got connected when needed.||||Beyond that, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more spectacular view. The deck overlooks the Pacific ocean, not more than a few hundred yards from the San Pedrito surf break. It truly...
Read moreWe had such a great time at Osprey San Pedrito. Off (but not too far off) the beaten path, the "Osprey" is a clean, well designed structure that is right on the beach. Room for 3 families to have their own living spaces, yet all hang out together for meals, celebrating, etc.||||We had a great time, and Maria (caretaker) was able to let us in when we arrived and show us around the place. It is nice having a full kitchen, BBQ, etc. The place seems safe, but make sure you keep all your valuables locked up inside (windows closed), as we had an unexpected visitor on our deck when we came home from dinner one night. Nothing missing, no harm - no foul. But keep your stuff inside at night. This should not be "news" to any experienced visitors to Latin America - petty theft is definitely part of the culture and you have to keep this in mind. As Dora says -"Swiper no swiping!".||||As a surfer, the place is additionally nice because it is literally a 5 minute walk to a fantastic righthand pointbreak. That said, the break is probably not a good spot for beginners as it is very rocky and has many urchins. In other words, if you can't be assurred that you'll make the drop every time, you'll want to surf elsewhere. But that's ok because Cerritos is a nice beginner-intermediate wave that is only a ten minute drive south from the Osprey.||||All-in-all, we are definitely coming back to Osprey...
