Club Med Ixtapa Pacific is an all inclusive Resort situated on Playa Quieta in Ixtapa. It is about a 30-minute bus ride from the ZIH airport. When we arrived, we were greet by the GO Team, given refreshing drinks and village tour. Although I do not speak Spanish, I felt that all of the staff were warm, friendly, and hospitable.

We upgraded our room to have an oceanview, which provided natural lighting. I liked how our room was cool and spacious. I was surprised that there were no electrical outlets in the bathroom area to dry hair or charge devices.

The GO Team organized daily activities including sports and water activities and nightly shows. Our favorite shows included the We Go Together (Grease-themed musical) and All Time Favorites (Greatest hits). Shout out to Luis and Fernando for the well choreographed performances.

Shout outs to the Infirmary staff Chris & Karla for treating my minor cuts and sunburn.

The gym consisted of stationary bikes, treadmills, ellipticala, rowers, free weights, and assorted machines including leg curls, leg press, leg extension, hip abductor, pectoral fly, rear deltoid, chest press, abdominal, lat pulldown, seated row, adjustable cable crossover, bicep curl, and tricep extension. They provided towels and water for all guests.

The main restaurant served buffet style meals with various themed dining rooms and multiple food stations. Each day, they had different featured dishes. I thought it was cool that the GO Team interacted with guests over meals. For breakfast, you can pick from assorted fruit juices, mexican style breakfast, toast, muffins, omelettes, hashbrowns, pancakes, hard boiled eggs, cereal, bacon, sausage links, and more. Shout out to Alexandro for making delicious eggs and omelettes. For lunch and dinner, they had cuisines to satisfy most diners. For dessert, you could choose from cookies, assorted pastries, assorted cake slices, meringues, assorted donuts, crepes, assorted puddings, and ice cream. I could not turn down the ice cream, which was more like gelato or sorbet because it was light, sweet, fruity, and quite refreshing.

The resort has an excursion office that you can book excursions as well as a photographer onsite taking memorable photos throughout the day. I highly recommend the Colors of the Pacific excursion, which you take a boat to Ixtapa Island, where you snorkel for as long as you want and enjoy delicious seafood. I was surprised that the last boat back to the resort was at 5pm.

The gift shop sells beach essentials, fashionable jewelry, and souvenirs including coffee, cocoa, sea salt, shot glasses, They offer 30% off discount on the item of the day. On Tuesday nights, the area by the pool turns into artisanal market that has multiple vendors selling Taxco jewelry as well as ceramic, wood, and handwoven handicrafts. You don't need to leave the resort to buy gifts to bring home but make sure you have Mexican pesos on hand to shop.

If you go to the beach, make sure you stop by the hut by the pool to rent a towel but don't forget your towel card which was provided in the welcome package. It's encourage to go early as it's less crowded. I recommend claiming a bed or lounger that is covered as the sun is strong and it's quite hot and humid outside. It's also recommended that you reapply sunscreen and wear sandals on the hot sand.

I spent most of my stay at the bar. Shout outs to the following bartenders Hector, Jonathan, Manu, Saul, Daniel, Jose, Cynthia, Marilou, Taylor, and Pube for excellent bar service and delivering innovative, delicious, and high quality cocktails including Pina Coladas, Horchatas with Cinnamon and Rum/Whiskey, Mojitos, Daiquiris, Golden Perry (that tasted like the Fireball candy), Punta Cana, Black and Ice, Rum Coolers, McQueen, and Rum Shots.

On our last day, we were given detailed instructions of things to do before checking out including luggage placement, account payments, and bus departure times. When it was time to go, we were wished safe travels and given mints. It was a...

We just returned from a 9-day family vacation at Club Med Ixtapa and had an absolute blast! We are two dads with two kids, ages 11 and 12. This was our 4th time visiting a Club Med resort as a family. We had been to this one once before, 9 years ago, and made such great memories that we wanted to return now that the kids were older.

Both times we stayed in the Sol Family Suites, which made our experience extra special. The suites offer easy access to a beautiful beach (especially if on ground level) and come with extra perks like a stocked mini-fridge with snacks and drinks, breakfast room service, turndown service, and direct access to a dedicated concierge plus more—all of which enhanced our vacation. Hard to imagine not having a deck which is what many rooms there are like so something to be paying attention to.

While the accommodations at this Club Med we found to be very average and don’t seem to receive much investment in upgrades, Club Med is more about the experience, the resort grounds, activities, and the GO’s (the staff) rather than luxury accommodations. This resort is a lot of fun and gorgeous with an outstanding beach but expectations for a luxury experience need to be left at home!

The food was just okay in our opinion—maybe slightly above average for an all-inclusive resort but not anything memorable but it was good enough and wouldn’t prevent us from returning. We did wish that it was a bit more elevated given the cost of our stay. What made up for it was the dining setting—eating outside on a terrace overlooking the ocean is a rare and beautiful experience that’s hard to find. There’s also an additional restaurant open three nights a week, which is included in the stay. While it had a nice atmosphere, the food quality was similar to the main restaurant. That said, there were plenty of food options overall, making it easy to please everyone in the family.

The GO’s at this resort were fantastic! While they each have their individual roles, they are also actively engaged throughout the resort, socializing with guests and creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere. We’re especially grateful to the incredible teen club GO, Thais, who made our kids’ experience so memorable. She has a way of drawing kids into activities and making them feel special—they will be thinking about her for a long time! Hector at the front desk was beyond helpful and friendly, making our family feel so welcome and assisting in many ways throughout our entire time there. Nicole the concierge was also super helpful and definitely enhanced our vacation experience. They are both so good at what they do. Bravo! Club Med Ixtapa is lucky to have them!!!

Our daughter spent a lot of time at the trapeze and was invited to do the “catch” and participated in the show along with several other guests. The trapeze staff were so engaging and encouraging. We also had a super great experience with the tennis coaches, Jorge and Luna.

There is something about the size and overall vibe of this resort that makes it feel both intimate and special. While there’s plenty of space for activities and exploring, the resort isn’t so huge that you spend excessive time getting from place to place. There’s plenty of room to enjoy the beach and relax in quiet settings, but also many opportunities to socialize and meet new people. The beach is so gorgeous there and sunsets are dynamite. With activities like archery, sailing, kayaking, pickleball, tennis, and fitness classes, we were never without something to do—making it hard to ever want to leave the resort!

We met many families who return to this resort year after year, and we can certainly see why. We’re strongly considering coming back again, though we’re also tempted to try some of the other Club Med resorts. We previously loved the Cancun resort, but now that they’ve removed their tennis courts we’re unlikely to return there.

Thank you Club Med Ixtapa for an unforgettable and truly...

Thank you Club Med Ixtapa for an amazing holiday for our family of 4!  Everyone was so welcoming, kind, and friendly, from the moment we were greeted at the airport to departure day. A huge thank you to the El Canto restaurant staff, the groundskeepers, the porters, the bar staff, and the housekeeping for all your hardwork every day.  The resort  and guests are so well cared for because of  your behind-the-scenes dedication.  There was never a time where staff did not greet us with a smile or "Ola!".

Shout out to the fitness G.O.'s Chris, Kelsey and Mario who provided lots of much needed Bootcamp/HIIT, Yoga/Pilates and Aqua Gym to offset the decadent eating.  Each fitness teacher was personable and fun.  Chris' Beach Burn class is a killer - be prepared to sweat on the sand!

There are 8 reasons why our family wants to come again.

Beautiful beach, weather: swimmable, some waves, soft sand, warm water, weather consistently warm and sunny (March Break).  Lifeguard on duty both at the beach and pools.

Large family suites: comfortable, kids had their own room that had a sliding door for privacy, King Bed for the parents, double sinks: one for kids, one for parents, a large soaker tub, good AC, hot water, a patio (we used it to dry off our swim gear daily)

Friendly, hardworking & versatile G.O.'s (aka staff or in Club Med lingo "Great Organizers")

4.Variety in Activities for all ages: Group Exercise (Bootcamp, Beach Burn, Aqua Gym, Power Walking, Yoga, Pilates) Tennis, Pickle Ball, Trapeze, Archery, paddle boards/catamarans/kayaks, Kids and Teens Clubs (our kids didn't use it, but heard great things about it)

5.Delicious food - not fine dining, but fresh and delicious:  ice cream bar, crepe bar, freshly baked bread (their chocolate bread is a must try!) excellent Mexican food, nightly specials (duck, salmon, mussels sushi, steak, shrimp, TACOS!! and typical kid friendly North  America fare of pizza, burgers, fries, pasta, chicken nuggets) For lunch, I would frequent the made to order salad bar. Our family had full and happy tummies at every meal at the El Encanto buffet restaurant.  The vegetarian in our family wished there were more veggie features for lunch and dinner.  The mango margarita was delicious but they didn't always have the mango mix on hand.  The dark ale and port were tasty when we ordered it on occasion.  The outdoor seating has spectacular sunset views.

Entire resort was very clean and well-maintained.  Covid safe.  All staff wore masks and guests asked to wear masks when inside the restaurant or ordering at the bar.

Entertainment:  evening shows featured the staff dancing, doing stand-up, lip-syncing, & circus arts. You get to know through participating in activities - the Circus themed night was a highlight! Special food events like the Dinner En Blanc (resort-formal outdoor seafood BBQ & seating with white tables/chairs, guests need to register at a table and are encouraged to wear white) and lunch BBQs by the beach were also fun additions.

Organized - got text or paper reminders/updates about our check-out date, reminders to register for Dinner En Blanc. The Club Med App has the daily schedule of all activities, and special resort events.

Thank you Club Med Ixtapa. We hope to see...

The way you are being greeted by the GO's sets the tone. The facilities are huge, very clean, colorful, and everyone will say hello. You get a program of activities you may or may not do, I highly recommend you give everything a try. Not good at tennis, take the lesson and join the tournament. You may not win, but you will get full support from everyone and have a blast. Same for any other sport. We tried the spa for the first tiem while travelling, I ended up going 4 times. Denis and his team: Africa, Salama, Clara, Marychouri etc are amazing. I get sea sick but we connectrd with Issam, from sailing. We can see him become a chief of a village down the road, he also took Michel on the water to show him the basics of sailing. From gym classes to archery, canooing and pickleball, what a blast. We didnt play volleyball but enjoyed watching. Large buffets, bars open from sunrise to late ( or early morning I should say). Many kids in the club, but they were mainly at mini clubs and we didnt feel surrounded, lol. Great laundry service. We rented bikes, short ride to downtown Ixtapa ( a bit of a hill, but we didnt mind). Everyone works like dogs, they spent time w guests, run their department and entertain us at night with a daily shows. Bring a white outfit for the white dinner. Dress code is usually very casual, except for 1 elegant evening.. We had been there before, and we will return. Very consistent weather, 30C, no need for a sweater in the evening. Thank you Antonio and your team, see you again soon Ixtapa

Today, my family and I decided to enjoy a Day Pass at Club Med Ixtapa, expecting a relaxing day at their facilities. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. At around 3 p.m., ALL the pools were closed because a family (with at least 6 children) wearing VIP wristbands allowed their kids to poop in the water. This wasn’t just disrespectful to other guests but also highlighted poor management by the staff. The cleaning process was said to take over 3 hours, which is understandable for hygiene reasons, but the way other guests were treated was completely dismissive. When I raised my concerns with the manager, no solutions or compensation were offered, while the “VIP children” and their family appeared to be treated with privileges despite the chaos they caused. We paid a significant amount for a service we couldn’t fully enjoy, and there was no effort from the hotel to make things right. Why prioritize one VIP family over the experience of every other guest? I hope Club Med takes incidents like this seriously and establishes clear policies to prevent such unpleasant situations in the future. It’s a shame that a place with so much potential fails to respect all its customers equally.
