Lake Wanaka Lodge — Hotel in South Island

The room was not on the generous side, but it was adequate. Unfortunately the walks are fairly thin and we could hear everything that the couple in the next room to us, were saying. ||We were only given a wifi internet code to two devices and when we left the hotel and came back again, you had to log back in again. No big deal..... except that overnight my (free) wifi logged out and my global roaming kicked in and by 6:42am I had already used 50% of my daily portion. How is that possible when I was sleeping????||The room and bathroom were clean. ||The lounge is a lovely idea for people to gather and watch tv. .... the tv in the bedroom was tiny.... but the lounges could do with an upgrade. We were allocated a downstairs room and unfortunately there was a lot of noise transference from the room above. This probably wasn’t helped because, the night we were there, the occupants were particularly heavy footed. You can, however, clearly hear the toilet flushing and shower running. The room size was okay without being overly spacious, with just a small area for a kettle and fridge. Everywhere was clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable. It is currently up for sale and without being able to pinpoint anything in particular, it felt like it was just ticking over waiting for a new owner to come in. Wanaka is such a lovely town it’s hard to have a bad time. The lodge is tucked back in a corner and parking is a little tight, but the beds are comfy and the water pressure in the shower was outstanding. The WiFi was fast, but we initially had some connection issues. However, the customer service is what really earned the 5 stars here! We made some last minute changes in our travel plans and they accommodated our date changes with no issues. Then, I accidentally left my kindle on the night stand. They called to inform me, and had it mailed back within a couple of days. I would happily return to a place that is so willing to take care of...
