Mosana Reef Garden B&B — Hotel in Bocas del Toro

First let me say that this is an excellent place to stay. It was our first time in Bocas and being older we could not have chosen a better location that was away from the hubbub but close enough to get to it when desired. We had great ocean views with sounds of the surf, limited ocean access from the property but we made it work...plus there are a lot of Playas within walking and taxi distance which I took advantage of. The garden views and plants were lush and attractive as it should be for Panama. Nadia was very helpful and attentive to us, we ordered drinks, beer and a couple bottles of wine on property, both of which we consumed with meals we made in the kitchen. We had dinner one night out of our 3 night stay and it was great - I had the Mosana chicken, thank you Salvatore it was delicious! Rooms, refrigerator, kitchenette and bathroom were clean, the bed comfy. The balcony was spacious enough for three. The only complaint I had, which I solved myself was that the door to the bathroom kept swinging open inward to the room, I fixed that by using a piece of coral rock from the beach to prop the door closed. Our travel mate in the other room complained of weak to non-existent Wi-Fi signal on the side she was on. Overall this was a great stay which was way too short. Nadia and Salvatore seem like wonderful people living their dream of creating a special place and sharing it with others...you should stay there, I think...

From the moment we arrived at Mosana Reef, we knew we had found something truly special. The oceanfront location is breathtaking — waking up to the sound of waves and sipping coffee with panoramic sea views is an experience that stays with you.||The owners are beyond exceptional. Warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful, they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Their hospitality felt like being welcomed into a friend’s beautiful home.||The food? Simply the best we had during our entire trip. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and made with such care — it felt like a 5-star dining experience in a relaxed, island atmosphere.||Beds were incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring or lounging by the water. And as a lovely bonus, the resident cats brought extra charm and coziness to the stay. They’re friendly, well-loved, and added such a sweet touch to the peaceful surroundings.||We can’t recommend Mosana Reef enough — it’s the kind of place you want to return to...

We did not stay here, but we had 3 meals here while we were staying at an Airbnb across the street (two dinners and a breakfast) so this review is just about the food. And the food is great! It's just two people cooking the food, the same two people who own and run the hotel. They are super kind and personable. My wife mentioned in passing that she had a headache and the owner brought her some ibuprofen with her meal. For dinner they serve really fantastic pasta and Italian food and you need to WhatsApp them before 5:00 PM to make your reservation and order your food. For breakfast you just walk in and order like a regular restaurant. You eat on an open-air terrace that has great views of the Atlantic coast of Isla Colon and the lush jungle that surrounds the property. The prices are excellent.
