I stayed at this hotel the first time for $49 a night thru Expedia. They charge you an 18% fee, which is disclosed as a "mandatory fee paid at time of arrival." My first stay went pretty well, and the room was ok. The issue I had with them was my second stay a week later. I tried booking in person and it was $90 a night, so I sat in the lobby to again book thru Expedia. The price was $58, plus the 18% fee, which was completely fine. However, I had selected 1 travler instead of 2, so they tried to charge me $40 more per night, which is outrageous. I tried to cancel the booking so I could redo the booking thru Expedia. They refused to cancel it, and there's no option on Expedia to cancel a same day booking. I then talked to Hans, who was the attendant at the counter. All he did was talk in circles, consistently give non answers to any questions I had, and provided no solutions to any of the issues. Selecting 2 travers on Expedia does NOT increase the price, so why do they need to charge an extra $40 a night? All Hans did was claim that because there's breakfast that adds to the costs. The cost is $4 a night for breakfast. If they had just tried to add that, I would've understood. Instead, I had to sit down in the lobby, go thru Expedia's customer support, and they said it's at the discrepancy of the hotel. Expedia said I had to wait up to 3 days to get a potential refund, which the hotel refused, and I was charged $120 for canceling the booking. This all occurred in the lobby within a 15-minute time frame and should've been easily resolved due to my oversight in selecting one traveler instead of 2. I stayed at 4 or so hotels in Lima, and this was by far the worst experience. I ended up staying at The Libre next store, and it was a much better hotel, better staff, better breakfast. I'm glad I paid $120 to avoid staying at a place with shady business practices! I would definitely avoid this place and...
Read moreThis hotel grew on my during my week long stay and I’d certainly consider it again. All the staff are really friendly and the location is brilliant with many key areas just a few moments walk away. My room was on the top floor and while a little basic was perfectly comfortable and clean. There was a small table at both sides of the bed with electric socket at one side, and the lighting throughout the room had a number of options and was cosy. There was a small desk, wardrobe and standard coffee facilities. The thick curtains did a job of keeping the room dark and there was no noise from outside. The bathroom was rather less spacious and felt a little dated in comparison but the shower was decent enough and the toiletries pleasant. Plenty of soft towels were supplied along with hair dryer and bottle of water. The air-conditioning was also really effective.||My only complaint with the room was a loud noise which occasionally occurred above - I can only assume it was the mechanism for one of the elevators. Rather disconcerting the first time you hear it and loud enough to wake from sleep; some people might find it rather unbearable.||There’s a large fridge in reception stocking a range of soft and alcoholic drinks which is a great facility to have access to at all hours, plus the prices are reasonable. But the restaurant and courtyard on the ground floor is a lovely space. I didn’t sample the breakfast but the afternoon menu is really pleasant with wide range, and the option of sitting outside while escaping the hustle and bustle is great. Food portions are large, reasonably priced and service top notch.||For a good value stay in a central location I’ll certainly be considering here again and...
