I was not able to read Tripadvisor reviews. I relied on booking.com reviews but some rated the hotel good only because they stayed there for one night. How could they miss the bathrooms and the smell?||||I chose the Miraflores Hotel because we wanted to stay in the Miraflores section of Lima. We booked for 4 nights. When we arrived the hotel looked nice and had a security gate operated 24/7 by the desk person. If she was gone, you had to wait.||||At the front desk we were greeted by an ever-smiling female employee who checked us in quickly. She was all alone so she also helped us with some of our luggage up the stairs because there is no lift.||||First room 3rd floor, I took pictures after she left and my goodness the bathroom was moldy and room had no windows. We were talking about changing room but all of a sudden she knocked and she told us that a room that we requested on the 2nd floor was available so we moved out quick. ||||In our second room, we thought we escaped from molds but this room had a terrible stench. The shower was covered with molds and there were molds everywhere even in the grout under our beds. We again changed to another room.||||This time the employee found a room on the 4th floor. It was bigger had a big window that we could open, still the bathroom was moldy especially the shower stall. The sink stopper was stuck and didn't drain but it was fixed the following day by the housekeeping lady. The room had no closet and clothes rod was right over the working desk. We just opened the window and bathroom door was closed all the time. We were thinking of moving out but now we would have to look but where and which hotel? So we stayed.|| ||We bought a bathroom cleaner for molds and mildew labeled "Anti Hingos". We sprayed the whole bathroom especially the shower area. ||||Reception employees were OK except one. The dining personnel were friendly. Breakfast was good but the same every day. Good WI-FI. The heater/air-con didn't work properly. The heater was blowing cold air. ||||The whole building, especially the bathrooms, needs total disinfection, fumigation, intensive cleaning and SCRUBBING.||||Avoid this hotel. There's a lot of NEW hotels and apartments in the Miraflores area. Buses, Metro bus, eateries, taxis and airport transport are not a problem. Clean rooms and bathrooms are still number 1 to have a comfortable accommodation. It was a big mistake booking in this hotel. Lesson learned. The owner and employees have no concern about the health and comfort of their guests. It's one of the worst places we ever stayed. Overall, it was a very bad and horrible experience especially for my friend who has...
Read moreWe stayed in room 212 for 8 nights. |Pros: |Reception and helpful staff especially the young women who work the front desk. Got early check-in on day 1 and were able to store bags on final day. Staff was exceptionally responsive to a potentially i foreseeable issue. We notified front office and within 10 minutes, Juan the maintenance person rectified the situation. |Location is great for restaurants, shopping and sites. It is across the street from The widely recognized Maido restaurant. Other very good places to eat are on opposite streets. Look for Riggoletos or StreetBurger.|It is about a 8-10 minute walk to Parque Kennedy, the lovely church and another 5 minutes to the markets. |We walked to the Malecon and the Barranco district to explore. |Room we occupied was large with a comfortable bed, clean bath, fridge and tv that included 2 English speaking stations if you have time to watch tv. |Area is really very quiet despite businesses in the area. |Cons:|Minor -The offered breakfast includes scrambled eggs, fruit a wide assortment of jams etc along with cereal, juice and coffee. Suggest they mix it up a bit. After a few days, the sameness wore.|While rooms are clean, the structure of the building and windows that do not open create a stuffiness in the room. Turning on the window air conditioner to move air helped. It does not help the black staining on grout in the shower. I say staining because I have seen this in rooms in Europe built with cinderblocks and no...
Read moreThe exterior promises a quaint, pleasant and comfortable stay. It boasts three starts proudly displayed above the door, but those must have been awarded a long time ago.||The bones of this hotel are excellent. Beautiful Spanish colonial style, nice court yard inside, big common rooms and a lovely common terrace facing the street. ||Unfortunately, it has been badly neglected. The rooms smell of mold (we tried two different ones), the lights are bare florescent bulbs, blankets and sheets are thin and towels are thread bare. The bathrooms are covered in mold, not just the showers but the whole room and the shower doors no longer work. The shower heads were corroded and moldy.||The ladies at the front desk were nice enough, but not overly inviting and speak little english.||The WiFi was spotty, my husband never got on. The lobby was the best spot.||Breakfast was the best part of this experience. A nice spread of fruit, breads, cheeses and ham. The coffee was drinkable, but not great - stick to the juice.||They held our luggage while we toured the city before our plane, but the room the luggage was stored in was not locked. Luckily nothing bad happened, but it was unnerving. ||With some investment this could be a great place.. The location...
