pros: ||1. The garden is lovely, surrounded by beautiful floras and the sound the birds and the bees will truly relax you. ||2. Food is good, value for money. ||3. Elmer and Manuel(the all-around-guys) are great hosts and took care of us well while we were there. ||4. Pool is small but has it's charms, though not good for night swimming since it's not well lighted. ||5. Overall - the place has a very relaxing vibes. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. ||6.Good reliable wifi signal at the restaurant - if you wanna squeeze in a bit of work while there. ||7. I love the garden! ||cons: ||1. Too far from the main road. Rough road and too dark (scary) at night.||2. Had a hard time coordinating with them - I have to email/call them several times, back and forth just to get the QR pass for us to enter Bantayan Island- not proactive in reaching out to booked guest. This was a ‘turn off’. ||3. Room not too clean, smells old. Facilities are old and not properly maintained. DON'T USE THE SHAMPOO OR BODY WASH FROM THEIR DISPENSERS IN THE SHOWER - what's in them looks expired and stale that the water has separated from the whole substance that settled at the bottom of the dispenser..yikes. Aircon leaked and flooded our veranda. Faucet leaked too. ||4. the air-conditioning in our room isn't cool enough||5. the beach view obstructed by a fence - the property could’ve done without it. IT'LL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IF THEY JUST TAKE OUT THE FENCE. ||6. Property needs more lighting at night especially near(and...
Read moreWe booked a weekend in this resort, based on info from Agoda and the (German) website. (14-16 June). Our enthousiasm went down quickly after arrival. This is a 'nothing to do' resort.||Cottages look great at the outside. Inside you go back into a motel in the early 60's.||Beach resort without beach. At low tide there is a kind of beach but definitely not challenging for a swim, coz no water for the next 50-100 meters. High tide, no beach at all and 30 cm water.||Facilities? Hardly any. Internet, no? Just a painful SmartBro in the restaurant.||Bar? Closed, coz of broken fridge, they said. Great! Fix it then!||The room? Knowing that the 'facilities' close between 8 and 9 it would be nice to have a mini fridge and a watercooker available so customers can provide themselves a bit.||On the website it says TV, DVD, Wifi, Videoke. Nothing is there!||This resort, they said, was one of the best on the island. I can hardly believe that. ||For us, it was a waste of time and money. I surely missed the 'deutsche Gründlichkeit' here.||Anything positve? Sure. The few crew members were friendly. Food in the restaurant was simple but good....
Read moreUpon arrival at Bantayan Island we called the resort who were kind enough to send out a driver to pick us up from the port. We had a short wait before he arrived in a damp smelling Mercedes van. A little while later we arrived st the resort.
I have to confess, the grounds were very well maintained and showed signs of promise. The gardens were well kept and the pool was equally as nice.
Where the resort fell down for me was the room. As soon as we entered the room all illusions were shattered. Cracks in the walls, broken floor tiles, ugly decor and an unusual smell. Upon clover inspection, the room had an ant infestation problem.
We swiftly decided that we would stay elsewhere and had the driver take us to a resort more to our expectations.
Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible but could definitely use some...
