If I could rate this a 2.5 I would. The resort is stunning I mean if you're looking for those Instagram drool worthy photos then look no further book here. The free kayak use was also awesome!
However the rooms could use a total overhaul especially for the price you pay. I booked a forest room and the minute I walked into it I smelled mold. I get it's a humid climate and damp I was expecting but this genuinely was moldy smelling plus the door lock was busted. I asked to switch rooms and the staff were very polite and let me switch rooms but it still smelled strongly of mold but at least this one locked...most of the time.
The ac worked but not properly you would turn it off and it never truly turned off or you would turn it down a degree and it dropped by 5 degrees. The bathrooms were a bit run down but functional enough. The beds were hard as rocks and at one point when we came back after cleaning had come through my phone said my pin had been entered too many times and had locked (sounds suspicious but we found nothing missing). Wifi sucked I mean it's out in the forest so I never expected it to be great but there was such a lag time that you almost wish they had just said we dint have internet so you didnt get your Hope's up.
The food was ok, not great and the staff were pleasant and accommodating.
The biggest drawback (and this doesnt factor into my rating as it's my fault for not google mapping properly) is the location from el nido proper. It's a half hour away by tricycle and will cost you 300 p each way, no where was this mentioned. It would be great if they would offer a conolimentary shuttle to town even like twice a day. So unless you plan on staying at the resort you're whole stay be prepared to spend 600 p anytime you want to do an...
Read moreMyself and my hubby stayed at to nido cove for our honeymoon from the 19th to 25th of April. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a very relaxed holiday . The staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. They helped us organise island hopping whilst we stayed at the hotel and organised tricyles to get us places also. The staff really did bend over backwards to help us , which was lovely of them . The hotel was very clean, every day we got our shower gel and shampoo topped up in the bathroom-we thought this was a nice touch and very handy . The food was basic but tasty and the drink was cheap can't complain atal .The service was really good aswel. The views from the pool and resturant area are Amazing!!! The only down side for us was the hotels location . The great thing about it was that is was very close to the airport and lio beach- lio beach I would recommend for the day lovely beach and resturants . The down side for us and only a personally opinion as we cant fault the hotel atal , was that we always wanted to go into town at night for food and drinks, so it was about a 25min tricycle ride both ways . It really wasn't that far atal only cost 300 peso . But we would have loved if the hotel was a shorter ride to town that was the only downside for us staying in elnido cove. Thank you again to all the...
Read moreI want to write then the great review they deserve, but during our stay we were informed that they are changing the layout and adding units.
With that said I can certainly wish them well on this endeavor and hope to get another chance to review them afterwards while giving their staff a glowing recommendation. Everyone, from the desk clerk to the security guards are the epitome of Filipino hospitality, I am married into it. Always with a smile, always willing to assist, and never losing their sensibility even under the toughest circumstances. One night we asked them to "reserbe a pribate" (Tagalog joke) tour, the following morning when the tour arrived we discovered it was not for us after asking the desk clerk we discovered a miscommunication had occurred (yes even 2 Filipinas can have them). After a little discussion they offered us a private round-trip van and scheduling the tour, costing us a few hundred pesos less than the original. That was really the only slight we had, just a lovely place,...
