Jack's Place — Hotel in El Nido

I stayed with my mother in a medium sized beachfront cottage in this resort.||The room is OK in size and you have a spacious private area / pouch attaching the room.||||My mom really like sitting and sleeping on that lovely space.||Airy, cool and green. Thanks to the staff there working hard to keep everything clean and well sorted out. They prepared us a delicious pizza and delivered it to my cottage as mother preferred not to walk to their restaurant for dinner. ||||Power comes after 5/6 pm and off 12 hours later. That's the norm for that region unless you paid a fortune to stay in some high end resorts nearby.||||The place is getting more and more popular. The side of nacpan beach nearby sami bar and further down, nearby 'crazy monkey' are exceptionally busy. ||Nevertheless, the beach is so large that you will find yourself a quiet corner. Jack's Place is further to the north and far more quiet.||||||There are far more restaurants , eateries and sami sami shops on the beach nowadays than my last visit 3 years ago. You can get supply very easily and the price is reasonable enough.||||Make sure to check with the local fisherman for their fresh catch and prepare yourself a delicious...

When traveling around the Philippines, we encountered a nice place called Jack's place. The settings around are beautiful but something stinks in this paradise... We were greeted and given the key to our cottage and that was it with pleasantries. No one near when you need something, no service at any meal,you can only drink coke, water and beer. Advertised meals for guests should be 200 pesos, well they are not. We were served by a waitress carrying a baby the whole time we were there. The designated smoking area was a kindergarten. People in other areas were really nice with us,asking us if we needed anything, if they can provide a ride or any tips where to go, well not in Jack's place. We had to scout the place for toilet paper, there was no maid service, no fresh towels, absolutely no toiletries, no services whatsoever. All around the Philippines people in the service industry were really nice and hospitable to us so we were shocked at the level of irrelevance at Jack's place. The place was exactly what I was looking for to get away from a busy tourist spot. If you want a quite place with an incredible view this is a spot for you. It does have a few inconveniences that some people might find too much to handle and that is not having an air conditioning in your room and the electricity is only available from around 5pm till 3am I think. It never really bothered me at night coz the cool breeze helped me a lot and the electric fan :) but during the day it gets pretty hot and that’s where the ocean is for 😁 it really does make you feel very connected with nature. Other than that this place is fantastic. The staff are very helpful and very friendly. They make you feel like you’re staying with family. The food was amazing. And even though the lady wasn’t the cook she made extra effort to cook for you and accommodate whatever you need. I definitely recommend this place and would come back here on my next visit...
