Pros: conveniently located, great staff, looks are great, clean bedding and clean room, NO ROACHES, free breakfast, free water 24/7, free coffee but it's instant, fast Wi-Fi if you're in a room near the router, balcony in the higher priced rooms, room safe in higher priced rooms, small fridge in higher priced rooms, cold air, overall the cosmetics make this look like a nice place, security cameras installed.
Cons: EXTREMELY NOISY, ants in some rooms only, no safe in lower priced rooms, no fridge in lower priced rooms, poorly built, some rooms wreak of sewage, doors on the bottom level are easy to break into with a credit card, water in shower gets lukewarm only but isn't unbearably cold, no internet in rooms furthest from the router, rooms are clean but glass and faucets could be cleaned better and no Starbucks on the island at this time. =(
We stayed a week and transferred rooms several times. 1st room on the floor had problems with the window not locking. I fixed it in about 5 min bc it was off track. The doors have a gap in them so it took less than a second to slide a credit card through to unlock them. Air conditioner was leaking water so we got transferred to a better room. 2nd room didn't lock and others had problems with their locks. This problem was addressed later that day though so no more issues. 3rd room had ants and was next to the free water so it was noisy and people smoking outside that came into our room. 4th room was perfect except it didn'thave internet. 5th room is where we spent the remaining 4 days. I don't think the sink had an S Trap so we were constantly smelling sewage. To solve this issue, we closed the bathroom door and left the fan vent on and we dealt with it. We didn't sleep much because the noise carries from room to room and the class of people there don't care if they wake you up at midnight, 2 am, 4am, 6am...after 7 am it's impossible to sleep. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Any situation we had, they addressed it immediately. I couldn't believe it bc it's usually the staffs fault when you have places like this but in this case, it looks like it was just built...
Read moreExtremely terrible service. I did not expect much for a 3-star Inn however, this place goes well below their proclaimed ‘3-star’ accommodation.
I booked a stay for 6 people for 3 nights and upon my arrival, I was unaware that a typhoon was due to hit the following day. I had booked tours for the next two days and was unable to do them due to typhoon. Now, the terms and conditions did say no refunds however, it was mentioned to me by the coast guard that warnings were given prior to my arrival and yet they decided to still take my money without telling me (I am from overseas and I was not aware of the weather conditions occurring at that time). If I had been told that tours were cancelled, I would have forfeited the deposit I had paid and gone to another hotel as the only reason why I booked with them was for their tours (fyi cheaper tours can be found around the area).
However, the guy at the front was nice enough to give their head office in Manila a call and request a refund in which they said they would. This somewhat eased my stress but, the refund is yet to be placed into my account. After several back and fourth messages and phone calls, all they get back to me is “it will be done Thursday” or “I’ll check with accounting” and “I’ll deposit it tomorrow”.
Whats the point of promising a refund if you won’t follow it through?
Dishonestly was prevalent in this company so I highly don’t recommend staying at untrustworthy company. The owner also has no sense of professionalism and had the audacity to say that asking for a refund was “disturbing” when I shouldn’t have needed to request for one if your employees were honest.
Overall, the place is dirty, there was some staff that were nice however, it is managed and owned by dishonest and childish people whom have no sense of customer service.
The showers and bathroom was covered in mould and extremely dirty—something thats a common courtesy of having guests. Even non-hotel/inn owners know that it’s common sense to clean the toilet and bathroom before having visitors over.
Please read reviews carefully before booking this place as I’m aware that I am not the only one complaining about the hygiene standards and customer service...
Read moreLocation was fantastic - close to the ferry and the tour meeting places. Wifi was ok. Everything else was sketchy - the room we booked was not available due to a maintenance issue. We got separated and put into 2 tiny "box" rooms for the first night. Bathrooms were barely big enough to get 1 person in there, smelly and had several ants crawling it.. One of the "windows" that looked out into a main hallway would not lock. Extremely noisy starting at 6am the next morning. Next day, our booked room was still not available and I politely told the receptionist that we could not stay in those rooms another night. We went to our rooms to discuss options among ourselves and to our stuff to check out. Receptionist came a few minutes later and offered a deluxe room upstairs (a "sudden" unoccupied room for 4 at 6pm during peak season?!?!) . The shower in the new room had no hot water or much water pressure (drip, drip only) but was much cleaner and smelled much better than the last rooms so we tried to make due for the last 2 nights. A/C and wifi gets turned off centrally. The breakfast room was above our room and we were awoken to the furniture scooting across the floor and loud talking starting at 6am. And afternoon, the receptionist is hard-napping UNDER the reception desk and you have to get someone to go wake him up. From our room, we could even hear another guest tell the receptionist she will write a bad review about her experience with the hotel and he said "ok" nonchalantly. We have stayed at hostels in Asia that were nicer, cleaner, quieter, and friendlier than this place. We thought we could handle the 3 nights here (as most of the hotels were already fully booked) and we knew it was a basic hotel as most people come to El Nido for the island-hopping tours and are gone during the day so we only needed a place to sleep and shower but we are sorry to say that this truly was one of the worst experiences we've ever had at a hotel. Based on other recent reviews, it looks like we had similar experiences as they did so make sure to...
