I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Al Andalus Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from the 4th of June to the 20th of June, 2023. Overall, my experience at this hotel was quite positive, and I would recommend it to others.
First and foremost, the location of the hotel is excellent. It is situated in a convenient area of Jeddah, making it easily accessible to various attractions, shopping centers, and business districts. Easy access to Andalus mall to get all necessary requirements if you are new to Saudi.
The staff at Al Andalus Hotel were welcoming, friendly, and professional throughout my stay and can speak both English and Arabic. They were always ready to assist with any queries or requests I had, providing prompt and efficient service. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff provided me with all the necessary information about the hotel facilities and amenities.
Speaking of amenities, the hotel offered a range of facilities that enhanced my stay. The rooms were spacious, well-maintained, and comfortable. The bed was particularly cozy, ensuring a good night's sleep after a long day. The room was also equipped with modern amenities such as a flat-screen TV, a mini kitchen, and a safe for storing valuables. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job of keeping the room clean and tidy throughout my stay.
One of the standout features of the Al Andalus Hotel was its breakfast options. The on-site restaurant served a variety of delicious dishes, both local and international, and the breakfast buffet was extensive and of high quality. The hotel also had a coffee shop and a lounge area, providing additional options for relaxation and dining.
The hotel's recreational facilities were also commendable. The fitness center was well-equipped, allowing me to maintain my exercise routine while traveling. There was also a swimming pool where I could unwind and cool off during the hot days. The hotel's spa offered a range of treatments and massages, providing a perfect way to relax and rejuvenate. Kids enjoyed the swimming pool a lot.
In terms of improvements, there were a few minor issues during my stay. Always had problem when booking cab for due to construction of new hotel and the road going to hotel always got confused by drivers and confused with mall and hotel..
In conclusion, my experience at Al Andalus Hotel in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was highly positive. The hotel's convenient location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, excellent dining options, and recreational facilities made my stay enjoyable. I would gladly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Jeddah and looking for a pleasant and comfortable...
Read moreHere are some pros and cons of this place from my experience of staying there
Pros:
Andulus mall is connected to hotel, and offers plenty of food places, kids play areas and shopping opportunities. This mall also has a connected hospital(Sulaiman Habib Hospital) which is a big plus.
Room size is pretty solid, I booked a 1 bed apartment and the room was well sized, well equipped with a kitchen aswell.
The staff was friendly, and tried to help, but given the scale of problems there wasn't much they could do.
The cons: The rooms ACs stink: whenever the AC achieves temperature and turns off, you would smell bad/damp air from the air conditioners.
Washroom water pressure is horrible, it was normal for the water to completely disappear from shower for some seconds and then come back.
The entrance to mall was via an uncovered/not so clean gallery on 2nd floor, not the best experience but manageable.
The ground floor reception felt like walking through a construction zone, poorly lit.
The pool and all facilities in the pictures , none of them were operational, and reviews show that this isn't anything new. They have been out since a long time.
Elevators are not air conditioned, and felt bad.
Breakfast was super basic and offered in some aisle of 2nd floor, and somehow the hotel decided to only offer it to 1 staying person.
Overall other then the location and size of the room, everything else clearly showcased a 1 star hotel, given the location and closeness to mall, I have rated it 2star, I hope they massively revamp their air-conditioning system, breakfast, swimming pool, elevators, water system if they want to even remotely be considered a...

Every stay here gets better. From the moment we arrived, Mr Hamad had everything ready. We didn’t need to ask for a thing and felt more like family than just Diamond Members — that’s the true DoubleTree standard.
The renovated breakfast lounge is now at international level. Mr Rashid, always full of energy, made sure everything was perfect, even bringing us freshly blended juices daily. Sister Mona worked alongside him with genuine warmth, while Naleeza and her assistant waitress served drinks and cleared dishes with kindness and professionalism. The chef’s constant smile and the egg station chef’s friendly touch made breakfast even more enjoyable.
At the reception, Mrs Aaliya showed genuine care, even arranging a therapist appointment for my wife when she wasn’t well. Along with Zahra, Asma, and Rena, the reception team was always welcoming. In-room service was excellent too, thanks to Mr Jibon and Mr Minhaj.
I’ve stayed here since the brand took over, and after renovations, this hotel is on another level. It’s the staff who make or break your stay — and here, they truly make it. Can’t wait for the famous cookies!
