Kaštieľ Fričovce — Hotel in Fričovce

No wonder that I am the first to review this hotel as it is located in Fricovce, one of numerous non descript Slovakian villages people don't even notice speeding by on the newly built highway that passes by the village. ||Even though the hotel is located in a beautiful mansion next to a private park with the history of the region at its doorsteps it is not frequented by tourists. Other guests seemed to be locals staying for a night in adjacent building to the hotel that offers more affordable accommodation. Few of the fancier rooms in the mansion could have been a draw to foreign travelers if somebody have put more thought into interior decorations. Chaotically dumping bunch of antique furniture into the room doesn't do any justice to the historic location. Bed could be more comfortable, less squeaky and actually fit two people. Wifi doesn't reach rooms and it gets chilly at night. Never the less this is probably the best option for the accommodation in the area, it could also meet you needs if you love history or you are planning a large event that could be hosted in mansion's large ball...

The Castle was very cool and the property is beautiful. We spent a week there and got to enjoy the surrounding areas as well. Presov was interesting. Once the people realized we were American they became rude. But the Castle and the employees there, were kind. They drink...

Po náročnejšom výlete sme sa tu zastavili (po doporučení známych). Naša skúsenosť však nebola vôbec dobrá. V úvode vyzeralo všetko celkom v poriadku - milá čašníčka, dobrý výber jedál. Objednali sme si na terase kávu a štrúdľu. Káva došla v zvonku zalepenej (a zaschnutej) šálke, spolu so špinavým džbánikom na vodu a mlieko. Takisto pohár s vodou nevyzaral najčistejší. Chystali sme sa ju požiadať o výmenu, keď nám donesie aj štrúdľu. Ďalších 15-20min. sa však už nikto neukázal... Keď nám došla trpezlivosť, išla som dnu zrušiť objednávku a vysvetliť, prečo odchádzame. Po mojom upozornení na špinavý riad čašník iba sucho reagoval "ok", ani sa neunúval ísť so mnou na terasu overiť si to, o ospravedlnení ani nehovorím... Za nás teda...
