City Hotel Košice — Hotel in Košice

Fantastic cuisine, the taste of the classical dishes without that fancy "we improved the recipe". If you really want to have what you order - tasty, decent meal you're in the right spot. We have already tried three of their al a cart dishes - the bryndzové halušky, čiernohorský bravčový rezeň and vyprážaný syr s hranolkami ( sheep cheese gnocchi with bacon cubes, fried pork medallion in potato batter, deep fried battered cheese with fries) and can't wait to just swing by and have something else to remind us of "the good old times". Even their home made tatárska omáčka is delicious. There are parking spaces at the side of the building, the street is not very busy and pleasant tree shadow makes your hot afternoon like a holiday. Was here for a single overnight stay, didn't care about luxury. Unfortunately the hotel was extremely noisy, people were talking and screaming and nothing was done about it. I was told there was breakfast at 8, next morning a rude lady who came to the hotel half an hour late basically pointed me away (she did not speak English, but was clearly annoyed). I have never experienced hotel personnel so rude. Breakfast is NOT FREE. The staff working at the time were very reluctant in making breakfast at all even if you would pay. I've used this hotel as a transit for one night only. Well, not impressed at all. The only good thing was that I could park my car on the back of the hotel but not even sure, it is safe because it is dark space between hotel building and garages. Everything was quite old and warn out. Water comes out of shower underneath the door and all bathroom floor gets wet. The curtains in the room don't obscure the day light. I've a sensitive sleep, so, for me it is was problem. Overall, the quality of facilities to me (experienced traveller) seems overpriced. I would not choose...
