As you enter the premises , you are greated by a majestic Villa - architectural wonder., with ample parking. Ps there is a dedicated entrance and a dedicated exit at the other side of the parking lot. Main entrance to the showroom and rooftop cafe. Left entrance is to the exquisite guesthouse. One floor up from reception take your time to browse though a wonderful showroom with exotic pots , colourfull fabrics , pewter Taps , pewter basins and a variety of gorgeous lamps. And Tajines ( to mention a few ) all handpicked and imported by the owners. Going up to the top floor- stairs only access -The rooftop cafe is a breath of fresh air that captures a feeling of exclusivity. The subtle music in the background takes you to a Bazaar deep in Morocco.Every attention to detail regarding decor hand placed by the owner. Now the food. Drinks menu included are soft drinks and wine , no spirits. Now the tailor made juices are made from a secret blend of exotic fruits with tantalizing aromas namely the juice “ Moroccan Pretoria Tap water “ definitely try it out. The Tajines prepared with either lamb , chicken or beef are wildly exotic and tease your taste buds. The use of flamboyant spices enhances the taste. You can ask for added spice to “hot up the meal “. All meals served out of and on to hand crafted glazed pottery. Side plates edged with pewter. As you descend the stairs next to delicate architectural features like the Mashrabiya - metal lattice you are treated to a courtyard ( Riad or Dar )filled with colour and delight. Tables and chairs carefully place ( this area can be booked for special group functions ) Now the Guesthouse - walking down the passage on hand woven carpets you enter solid doors to a gorgeous apartment. Every detail showing with handcrafted tables , exotic bed spread and bedside lamps. Please have a look at the slipper ( not to be removed from the room ) but can be used. The wooden door opens into a beautiful garden with your own Moroccan handcrafted table and chairs. Real Water features in the background easing your daily stress away and calming the nerves. Rooms have WiFi , tv , showers and upscale soaps and towels. The owners are hands on and take extreme pride in this establishment.

This was our first visit and it was an absolutely exceptional experience. Was greeted at the entrance by our lovely host who washed our hands with warm rose water. This was a nice change from the normal sanitizer. When she heard it is our first visit, she took us on a tour, showing us the lovely rooms for the guest house, the function venue and the shop. We shopped around for hanging lights and was given useful advise. When we left after our shopping it really felt as if we were away at an exotic place. There is good variety of lights and ceramics and other lovely household items. Top on my list for exotic shopping. Will definitely attend one of the theme night dinners.

Well, this Moroccan House is a house straight from Morocco into South Africa! The decor is Moroccan, The rooms are Moroccan, The tea is Moroccan, The coffee is Moroccan, Some of the staff is even dressed in Caftan attire, but the food, served from both kitchens, may have to "calibrated" their recipes with the Moroccan recipes. The food is served in a tagine but the flavours are very much South African. I loved to sit outside our room, in the garden, and enjoy a Moroccan Coffee.

After having driven past Moroccan House for years to finally actually turning in and seeing what it has to offer, i really thing it checks the box as a truly hidden gem.

Styled, decorated and an interesting layout leaves you with the feeling of an actual visit to Morocco, something you may well consider after tour visit.

Moroccan house offers a guest house and resturant as well as a shop stocked with everything Moroccan. The venue ban host functions, catered for by the in house chef. Enquire with when booking about combination options.

The resturant offers an authentic taste of Morocco, and has been awarded annually for it since 2015....well at least the awards that were on display. I strongly recommend the platter options for couples or groups of four, for a really...
