Elephants Nest Guest Lodge — Hotel in Thaba Chweu Local Municipality

We arrived at Elephants Nest after a long journey from Joberg Airport. It was getting dark which made us nervous to still be out on the roads in the mountains but when we arrived at the accommodation we were very relieved. We were greeted by our lovely host who gave us a warm welcome.||||The accommodation we stayed in was a room with a large bathroom. It was perfect for a stop over on our way to Kruger National Park. We were offered breakfast but decided to eat out as we wanted to try Harries Pancakes (which was ace). WOW - As I'm a pretty disorganised traveler, I came upon this place because I LOVED the name. Arrived around 7pm after a long day of travelling and received a warm welcome. We were shown to our rooms which were clean, spacious and had everything you need for an overnight stay. We were given good advice on where to eat and popped over to a place called The Garden Shed which was only a 2 minute drive away. The bed was comfy, we slept very well and check out in the morning was straight forward. We only had a very short stay as we were just passing through and Elephants Nest was perfect for this.
