Hotel Weltevreden — Hotel in Galle

We were given a room for 3 at €120 per night that had nothing as per advertised, to summarise:||||Room walls were filthy, No Garden view, Missing linen, Dirty bed sheets, Missing towels, Broken room door and bathroom door, No Wifi in room, No TV, No DVD player, Fridge didn't work, No "24 hour reception" to help address these issues when we realised all the problems.||||Naturally we felt the price was excessive given all the issues which you wouldn't expect in a €50 per night room. Management would not listen to any of our grievances and proceed to blame us for not checking out the room sufficiently! In all my years of traveling, I have never stayed in such an overpriced, falsely advertised kip. To add insult to injury, the management were completely unapologetic and accepted no responsibility for any of the issues! Upon giving me a room with an A/ C, the owner came in the morning banging on my door and asking me to move to a non - ac room as the AC room is being given to the other couple. When we argued by saying that the staff allocated us the room, the owner is shameless in putting the blame on the staff n telling us that the staff doesn't know anything about the property. This place provides you the worst service in the entire Galle Fort. ||P.S : There are some amazing people with beautiful properties, I recommend you to stay away...
