Grace villa bentota — Hotel in Sri Lanka

The villa is located a short (1.5km) walk from the beach front and it is best to.follow the signs from Sri Mangala Mawatha, as the location isn't quite pinned correctly on some maps. |Grace, the owner, is a lovely, honest hostess who gave us everything we could ask for and more. She is an excellent cook and prices here are much cheaper than on the seafront and of comparable or higher quality. We had a kilo of prawns cooked two ways for a bargain compared to the restaurant prices.|The breakfast was large, filling, and delicious and although we had European style breakfast each day, the local style is also available.|The rooms are spacious and cleaned to a good standard with hot water showers and the ceiling fan was strong enough to combat even the midday heat in October. Mosquito nets were a good size and free of holes. |Please be cautious about the one star review given previously here, we understood that due to very high competition in the area, businesses and rickshaw drivers have begun to mislead tourists and lie to them to damage the reputation of rivals. There was also something of a language barrier. Grace is a lovely person and in no way would she ever attempt to mislead.|We would definitely be happy to stay here again and will be doing so in the future with the rest...

Grace made us welcome from the moment we walked through her gate. We stayed in a family room with 2 double beds. Every room has a private bathroom and kitchen with a refrigerator, all beds have mosquito nets (we looked in all the rooms for a future booking). Grace was a chef in Cyprus for 6 years, her prawn meals were fabulous. She can make sea food and meals at any time, just ask her before so she has time to buy the ingredients. Local day trips and tuktuk rides to the beach or local restaurants can be arranged via Grace for a good price. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean with hot water showers. Separate garden for guests from the family, in a jungle setting, it is very beautiful and relaxing. Dining area outside or inside the large dorm room. The guesthouse is a pleasant 15-20 minute walk from the beach, 1.5km from the bus stop and Cargills. Price of all rooms is very good. 😊: It is in a quiet part of Bentota Grace the host is nice. 😢: It is not very clean, the photos on booking.com must have been taken a long time ago I was supposed to be in a “dorm” room - well it was a room that people came and went from no privacy (photos attached) so Grace very kindly moved me to a room however there was no windows and no AC just a fan. Luckily there was a mosquito net No toilet paper in the bathroom. I would think whether or not people are staying a host should always have rooms ready. The power board to plug in only had 1 working plug. Don’t use Google maps to find this place Too far away...
