Hatton Colonial Bungalow — Hotel in Sri Lanka

We stayed at Lake View Bungalow – Hatton on 10th August 2025, and it truly felt like a home away from home. That day, we were the only guests, which made the experience even more peaceful. The owner (Mr.Kamaraj), a very kind and welcoming gentleman, told us to use anything in the hotel and feel as if we were at our own home. The kitchen was fully equipped, with all utensils and essentials available. He even encouraged us to use their tea, sugar, and milk powder. If you prefer to cook your own meals, it’s perfectly convenient here, but if you want food from outside, they arrange delicious meals from a nearby restaurant.

The bungalow has four rooms and three bathrooms, making it ideal for a family or a small group of friends. It’s located right next to the beautiful Castlereigh Reservoir, offering a calm and scenic environment. Room prices are very affordable and worth every cent you pay.

The owner, who is also a regional politician, showed remarkable hospitality. Even after we checked out and headed towards Nuwara Eliya, he called us in the evening to check whether we had reached safely.

We stayed here for two nights in December and had a great experience. The place is very close to Castlereagh Reservoir, with clean rooms and bathrooms. There are four rooms, and they provided extra mattresses and pillows for our group of 11 adults and 3 children. The manager, Ulagesh, was friendly and efficient. It’s a great place to stay.... Staff were friendly caring and pleasant, Meals are very good and delicious... Rooms are warm while outside is very cool, and looking outside very beautiful and fantastic lake view, I highly recommend the hotel for locals and foreigners.
