Indra Manel Family Holiday Resort — Hotel in Sri Lanka

This place is a Hidden Gem !! My self and my mother stayed for one night on room only DBL and ordered via A’Lacerte. From the start of the phone call to inquire to the check out day , the service provided by Mr. Suresh Ratnayake and his team was just professional and AMAZING!! Suresh gave very clear instructions on booking and how to transfer the advance , shared with me the pictures of the hotel and the room I’ll be booking , the menus etc . On arrival he and his staff were very pleasant and was very attentive . The room and its facilities were just great !! The atmosphere in the hotel and the views !!! The VIEWS were serene and picturesque!! Then comes the food !! We had dinner and breakfast . One of the best foods we have ever tasted ! Dinner Sweet and sour fish portions were more than enough for one !! Vegetable fried rice , Vegetables Chopsuey , Ice Cream Sundae and fruit salad were great ! Breakfast we had stung hoppers fish curry dhal curry and coconut sambol and western breakfast and Lavariya !! Everything was just nicely laid out in the terrace with a beautiful view of the Huluganga . Again the food was just AMAZING . They do have drivers room which we need to pay and we can get the meals for the drivers .

Check out was prompt !! I ordered some food packets to take away for lunch as the food was great !! Front office staff who assisted the ever so gracious Mr. Suresh was Imalka and serving was professionally done for breakfast by Mr. Sandaruwan and Dinner by Pramith.

The staff are an asset along with the brilliant view and the lovely interior !! One of the windows were a frame from Jaffna !!

I must thank Suresh for the great service he provides with his team to the guests !!

1/5 — Very Disappointed with Power & Management Behavior

We had a day-out event at Indra Manel Hotel yesterday with a group of 34 people. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing due to poor power management and unprofessional behavior from the management team.

There were around 10 power cuts during our event. I informed the authorized hotel staff multiple times to please use the generator, as the power was dropping repeatedly. However, they did not take any action.

Because of these power interruptions, the DJ was unable to continue properly — at one point, the music had to stop for nearly 15 minutes right on the dance floor, completely ruining the flow of the program.

To make matters worse, there was no hotel manager present. The marketing manager, who was in charge at the time, was not respectful at all. When I approached him to discuss the power issue, he simply walked away without even listening properly. This kind of behavior is unacceptable for a reputed hotel.

On a positive note, the minor staff did their job well, and the food was excellent — special thanks to the chef. The fish curry and other dishes were truly delicious.

However, due to the continuous power issues and unprofessional attitude from the reception and marketing manager, our overall experience was very bad.

I sincerely hope the management will take these issues seriously and improve their customer service and event handling...

Never again - truly disappointing experience. We chose Indra manel Family Resort for our recent gathering because about six months ago, we had a wonderful day outing there with excellent service. The reception team back them was welcoming, professional, and the property manager with his team provided an outstanding experience. Unfortunately, this time it was completely the opposite. From the moment we arrived, we were disappointed. The front desk staff were unprofessional, and there was no manager available to respond. A person who claimed to be the marking manager seemed clueless and did not know how to handle the situation. There was no proper planning or coordination throughout the event. The food was just average and several services failures occurred during our stay. It seems that no one at the property has common sense – when there was a power failure, they didn’t Even bother to switch on the generator, we were playing our plates and all other service, yet basic operations were ignored. We paid expecting to celebrate our special day with a memorable experience, but instead it turned into a huge disappointment. This is a message to the higher management – Please take necessary action to prevent such issues and hire a truly professional team to manage the operation properly.
