Kambura Villas — Hotel in Sri Lanka

The villa itself was nice enough, and the location was okay for a relaxing stay. The general staff were friendly, polite, and accommodating, which made parts of our stay enjoyable.

However, the experience was soured by the behavior of the manager, Barbara. Her attitude was unnecessarily aggressive and unprofessional. When a misunderstanding arose about the presence of two 3-year-old children, she completely overreacted. Instead of addressing the situation calmly, she was barking like a dog — loud, rude, and disrespectful. She insisted that we had to take a separate villa from her because of the kids, which felt completely unreasonable and forced.

Not only is the villa absolutely stunning with some of the best views of the coast, but the service and food is top of the top. We had a family reunion to celebrate my fathers milestone bday and the team went above and beyond. If you want authentic Sri Lankan food, you cannot get better. They also catered for our children by providing Western food as required. It was all very delicious! So honest and transparent with anything that we asked. Spent a couple days here post a wedding at Kalutara. We did not even feel the need to leave this place. Partly because we were exhausted but mostly cause this place was perfect and it had the ‘dreamy’ factor to it.

Gorgeous villa, great location, wonderful private beach, amazing service and great food. We were lucky enough to witness an absolutely clear night sky on a no moon and spotted a comet and a shooting star all adding to the ‘dreamy’ quotient.
