The owner leen and moo has an unfortunate tendency to discredit bad reviews...||Don’t book here surf lessons because outside just 5000 LKR two hours surf lessons in the water but here 8000 LKR one hour only . Then Kumana National Park wildlife safari outside 9000 LKR but here 15000 LKR so please don’t book anything else here have better prices outside shops ( lied peoples )||RUN AWAY!!! We were treated to bedbugs... obviously, the conditions were perfect for their development. Bathroom: shower head patched and leaking on all sides, taps not maintained (verdigris on all taps). Mosquito net with holes (we had to hunt mosquitoes every day). Broken toilet seat (be careful, it can hurt 😁) Dented and holey floor covering. Faded room decor, yellowed printed photos on the walls. We had been upgraded... fortunately... Lunch view of the road, not the beach. Cold shower and... I save the best for last: being honest, we wanted to share our comments BEFORE leaving a comment on booking, out of kindness and transparency in order to help the owner to be aware of the condition equipment, unsanitary places unworthy for the public... the owner tried to block our future comment by purely and simply canceling our reservation that evening, during our stay (we had paid in advance, we then asked to leave but he never wished to reimburse the remaining nights). Booking contacted us and asked for proof of our stay. Our stay at The Little Lagoon Hotel in February was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home.

The vibe of the hotel is simply amazing, creating the perfect atmosphere for relaxation and connection. We had the pleasure of engaging in long discussions with the owner couple, exchanging updates from our respective countries and sharing recommendations. Their insight added a wonderful dimension to our stay, making it more than just a typical hotel experience.

One of the highlights of our trip to Sri Lanka was the surfing lesson arranged by the owners. It was an unforgettable experience that we'll cherish forever, thanks to their efforts in making it happen.

The owners truly are an incredible power couple - not only are they excellent hosts, but they're also genuinely nice people who go above and beyond to ensure their guests have a memorable stay. We wish them all the best in their endeavors!

For anyone considering a stay in Arugam, The Little Lagoon Hotel is a no-brainer. Located conveniently on the main street, it's the first hotel you'll encounter upon reaching the town. Plus, everything in Arugam is just a short walk away from here, making it the perfect base for exploring the area.

We spent 2.5 months at little lagoon and what a good decision that was! The hostel is located just past the Potuvil Bridge; walking distance from most restaurants and shops but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. It is located close to a beautiful lagoon where sometimes in the evenings you can see elephants bathing in the distance.

The room we had was amazing! Spotlessly clean and comfortable with functional furniture and a large bathroom. We worked during the day on the spacious veranda outside the room which has been tastefully decorated with plants in macrame hangings. It is clear that alot of thought has gone into the design of the place. Unlimited WiFi was a huge plus as well!

Little lagoon has a good size kitchen with all appliances needed to make basic meals. The owners even organised vegetables deliveries for us!

I would say the best part of little lagoon is the family that runs it. Amazing people who would help with any situation and are always around for a hearty chat!!

We loved staying there and can't wait for...
