Lotus Tourist Inn — Hotel in Sri Lanka

I don't give this place a three star because it was bad, but because that is really as much high as it could be rewarded. It is a very very good budget guest house! | Lotus inn is an incredibly cheap place to stay with very affordable food and drinks. The rooms are ample, no AC but fan provided which was no problem, massive beds with mildly uncomfortable pillows (I thought it was pompous when I read a review saying this but it was surprisingly accurate, the pillows are very very hard hahaha). My only main complaint would be he lack of plugs, it was either the fan or charging devices - choose at your peril. The food was very nice and very cheap. They provide normal rate taxi services and are located close to and far from the main temples and Sigiriya respectively. It was an amazing place to stay for the price and purpose...

Booked by Agoda, revived a confirmation email. Arrived the next day to find they Inn was fully booked. They had no record of our booking. Showed the confirmation email, booking reference etc. Had booked by Agoda for a cheap rate. However was told they do not use Agoda. After trying repeatedly to explain "your company is on Agoda and accepting bookings", we were getting nowhere and left. The owner did not once apologise while we lugged 15kg backpacks back out to find a guesthouse. He called another guesthouse, which was twice the price we booked. ||Finally found a place to stay. Then receiving a second email from Lotus Inn asking if we required a Tour or Taxi during our stay?...

We decided to book the Lotus Inn as it was close to the temple and Sigiriyi. When we arrived we left our suitcase and went off. We didn’t return for about 4 hours. Our suitcases were in our room on our return. The beds were uncomfortable and the bedding was not clean. The heat at night was unbearable and slept very little if any. With a bit of work this place could work. There is only one power point in the room and it was very dark. The bathroom was tidy enough and the owner did take us to our next destination as requested. If you pay 1000rs don’t expect the Ritz! My rating is based on an e experience of two different guest houses we have stayed...
