Mowgli Cottage — Hotel in Sri Lanka

We stayed at Ravi’s place for two nights whilst visiting Lion Rock, Dambulla caves and the jungle. ||The room was set in a private garden, was clean and spacious. The bathroom is modern and new with hot showers. The beds are large and comfortable with AC and Tv in the room. The wifi comes and goes but that is no issue. Breakfast is a real treat in the mornings served on the balcony with fresh fruits, tea and other delicacies. ||We were blown away by Ravi and his families hospitality. Ravi had amazing local knowledge and speaks perfect English. His brother owns a restaurant out the front which serves really good food (we ate there every time). He is also a tuk tuk driver and gave us a great price and information on the area. His sister also gave us a cooking class in there family home. The food was so fresh and flavoursome. It was a truly authentic experience which we were very grateful for. Ravi and his family welcomed us with open arms to Mowgli Cottage. It was such a treat talking with Ravi and sharing our different stories. He is the most kind and genuine person you'll meet in Sri Lanka! Super helpful and knowledgeable of all areas of the country. The room was clean, quaint and a great place to stay to enjoy a night in Sigiriya. We were absolutely blown away by the breakfast - homemade sweet & savoury items, beautiful tea sets, amazing Sri Lankan items. It was by far our favourite breakfast on the trip! ||||Ravi made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and even drove us into town (complimentary) to find a spot for lunch when we first arrived. Had a great time at this cottage! Ravi is the best host you can wish. He helps you planning your trips and the prices that are fixed. The room itself is very clean and the balcony is a peacefull place to sit. We wanted to see the sunrise at pidurangala rock. Ravi arranged a tuktuk for us at 04:45 and to bring us there and back. When we came back the breakfast was allready served. We could only stay for one night, but in the morning Ravi’s brother showed us the place around in his tuktuk.
