Pelican Lake — Hotel in Sri Lanka

This hotel is located in an amazingly beautiful and quiet place on the lake. We were delighted to see dancing peacocks just in front of our room, and we even spotted a mongoose and a giant squirrel! ||The hotel grounds have plenty of cozy spots where you can sit on a bench with your laptop or simply enjoy the views. Our room was spacious, with high ceilings and a private terrace. Everything was clean, and the hot water in the shower was good.||The breakfasts were varied and delicious, and the dinners were simply huge. The owner of the hotel, Nimal, treated us to traditional Sri Lankan dishes, as well as incredibly tasty fish caught right in the lake. ||But the biggest impression was left by the owner himself, Nimal. He is an extraordinarily kind, responsive, and caring person. During our stay, I injured my hand, and Nimal not only helped arrange a visit to the doctor but also personally drove me to the hospital several times in his car, helped me buy medicine, and provided moral support. A Peaceful Retreat Surrounded by Nature

This hotel is set in an incredibly beautiful and tranquil location right by the lake. Waking up to the sight of dancing peacocks right outside our room was truly magical! We also spotted a mongoose and a giant squirrel, which made our stay feel even more special.

The hotel grounds are full of cozy spots where you can sit with a laptop, meditate, or simply enjoy the stunning views. Our room was spacious, with high ceilings and a private terrace, providing the perfect place to relax. Everything was clean, and the hot water in the shower worked perfectly.

Breakfasts were varied and delicious, with a mix of traditional and international options. Dinners were incredibly generous, featuring fresh local ingredients. The owner, Nimal, even treated us to freshly caught fish from the lake, prepared in a traditional Sri Lankan style—absolutely delicious!

Amazing place to stay when visiting Udawalawe, beautiful location, the staff and owner were incredible. Once booked, they were very prompt in replying to my questions, organising the safari to Udawalawe.

We arrived quite late, but straight away the owner met us as we arrived, showed us straight to the room. Cooked and beautiful dinner, on the floating pontoon over looking the lake, the food was great and there was so much of it.

The room was very clean, hot shower and good air conditioning.

The safari was again, excellent, we were picked up at 6am, they supplied a small snack and water during the safari, then on return we were supplied with an awesome breakfast, no shortage of great food.
