As a guest, my family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at a resort in Digana Kandy, and I must say, it was a memorable experience. One of the most unique things that stood out was the lush greenery that surrounded the property. It was a breath of fresh air to be able to escape the city and be in the midst of nature. It was great to see that the hotel had preserved the big trees on the property, adding to the natural beauty and giving a feeling of being close to nature.

The room we stayed in was spacious and designed in Kandyan architecture, which added a traditional feel to the overall experience. The food served at the resort was also good, and the staff was attentive to our needs, making us feel right at home.

The pool was another highlight of the resort, and my kids loved it. It was well-maintained, and we spent hours enjoying the water and sun. My partner and I only stopped at the hotel for one night as part of our Sri Lankan tour. This is a little boutique hotel with the room being very modern and a little quirky, with a solid concrete table. The hotel seemed very quiet when we arrived and when we went to the restaurant for dinner there was only one other table that was occupied by three English and two French people. With the restaurant being so quiet the chef came out and asked us what we he could cook for us as there were insufficient people for the buffet that is the norm. We asked about having a bottle of wine, which the manager said they do not stock, but he sent one of his staff out of the hotel to get a bottle of wine for us. The next morning when we went for breakfast the other five people had left the hotel and it was just the two of us. Again the chef came out and offered to cook us whatever we wanted for breakfast as it was not worth producing a buffet. I did ask the manager why the hotel was so quiet but he said that night the hotel was fully booked as they had a coach party arriving. I would love to have stopped a little longer as there were facilities in the hotel we did not get chance to use. Don't book this if you want to go to Kandy as it is a little way out. During my stay, I found the attentiveness and support of the hotel manager remarkable. He was always available, ready to assist when I was late or needed help, going above and beyond to arrange transportation or fulfill any requirements. In a generous gesture, he offered us a taste of the local cuisine, serving us two complimentary dishes filled with local fruit, providing an authentic taste of the region.

The breakfast and location were truly unique. The ambiance was peaceful, making it an ideal destination for family couples. The opportunity to observe wild monkeys and listen to the beautiful bird songs added to the charm. A serene lake nearby, coupled with comfortable chairs for relaxation, made the setting outstanding.

In terms of improvements, I honestly couldn't point out anything that I didn't enjoy during my stay. The hospitality, location, and amenities were all top-notch. However, I did wish for an opportunity to use a boat or pedal boat on the back lake. Unfortunately, it was not deemed safe, which is understandable considering guest safety is paramount.
