Stephen was a very good host. Even when I arrived earlier than check-in, he let me settle my things and myself in the apartment. He also gave very nice advice on going around Taichung, as well as share some interesting topics along the way. I will always remember the ice cream interjection! :D
The place is very cozy. What you see is what you get. The bed is huge for one person, and I think three people can actually fit in there! Some cute pillows to go with your sweet dreams. Furthermore, you have your own space to hang clean clothes, your laundry in the balcony, there's snacks as complimentary of the room, a PC with internet, hair drier and adapters for charging. Aside from that, you will have your own private bathroom with a bathtub which is best after a long, tiring day of traveling around Taichung. Two tubby cats there to play with too!
I guess the only minor, actually it's more of a personal preference, setback is the location. Stephen's place is a 5-minute or more bus ride to the city center (where the train stations are), so it takes a while to go back if ever you want to rest mid-day of your trip. Nonetheless, I personally didn't mind because I love the ambiance of the area of the apartment--very local, quiet, and safe.

His house have 2 cats which will greet you once you open the door. His cats are fun to play with and won't attack you.
Basic amenities such as towel, hairdryer, WiFi, etc are provided. There's even a electric thermal heater to keep the water warm for you to drink in the room! There's also some snacks on the table for us to eat and tea/coffee to drink.
