BED BUGS 🪲. During my stay I received multiple accounts of bed bugs in the property. I cut short my stay by a week and found somewhere else as soon as I found out. It's a real shame because otherwise I had a great time.
It's a very communal place with people to talk to, shared kitchen area and bathrooms. My own bunk bed had space underneath to work in and store my stuff. Many little spaces in the communal area to sit down and hang out. It was a cool place to chill out. Location wise it's amazing. Less than 3 minutes walk to Shilin night market and 7 to the train station.
There is a cleaner who cleans the bathrooms every day. And free clothes washing. Unfortunately some guests do not wash their hands after using the toilet and intentionally dirtying the place by not flushing their poo and peeing on the toilet seats. I saw this on a daily basis. I'm not used to this culture but maybe this is what happens in Taiwan or South East Asia. Best you can do in a situation like that is have a box of antibacterial wipes for anything you touch and regularly wash your hands.
Kevin was my contact online and he replied quickly when there was an ants infestation in the room. I found the bug spray and did what I needed to do.
Price and location was amazing. Unfortunately I react very badly to bedbugs which is why I won't stay again but I am aware of how quickly they spread and how difficult it is to get rid of an infestation. If you are reading this before booking, I'd give it a couple of months to see if this issue gets resolved here. Proper bug fumigation is expensive and takes a week...

Read moreI found lots of bedbugs on the bed in midnight, then I just checked out early... they tried to provide me another bed but there’s NO WAY to keep living that place. They didn’t apologize to me even I showed them the photo of bite marks on my arm and face. I got refund though...
Also It was the first time I've even cleaned up a used bed from a previous guest. My bed linens put on the dirty bed when I checked in. Moreover, an uncle tried to get in the female dorm (he has room key so probably he was house keeper but I felt uncomfortable.)
Then the photos on the website look beautiful, but they are actually quite different. There is no curtain on the bed, and no space for storage like tables or shelves in the room. And then their kitchen and common area are ant colony
I wrote various things, but actually it was acceptable considering location and price. I recommend for people who are accustomed to backpacking and only need a...
