The guy in the shop in Castlereagh was friendly and helpful, however when the carpet fitters came out to fit the carpet, I had my own underlay, grippers and door bars and they told me it would be an extra £25 on top of the price I had been quoted in the shop. When I asked why they said it was for the carpet sticks. When I asked what they were, they said they go under the carpet so I said I had my own carpet grippers and they said no that's not what they were talking about. Then later on they said, since you bought your own grippers, if we burst a pipe, who would be liable? So you need to pay us an extra £25. I paid it but still wasn't sure what it was for. And since it was cash and there was no receipt for the extra £25 then I was worried they'd scammed me. I phoned the shop and the man told me he'd get to the bottom of it. He phoned back and explained that since my grippers were 75cm instead of 5ft, it was extra labour so they needed to charge extra. He also asked if there was furniture in the room and I said yes and he said, oh probably for that too. First of all, they should have told me there was a chance it was going to cost more than what I was quoted in the shop as I had to have cash and it was lucky I had it. Also, I hadn't budgeted for this costing an extra £25 so that was a bit of a shock. And lastly, they shouldn't have kept changing the reason for the extra money as this just makes me think they just wanted some extra money and couldn't come up with a good enough reason. I won't be recommending this company to any family or friends...
Read moreNot So Right ! I had to visit Rite Price due to my insurance claim for damaged carpets as they are the local contracted carpet and flooring company for my insurer. First of all there was a delay in receiving a call from Rite Price even though my insurance company suggested that I will recieve a call within a couple of days .. but this was just after Easter holidays , so understandable. So finally after some phone calls we had a home visit , a very quick one indeed ! ,the guy didnt seem to have enough time to listen to my questions as he was in a hurry . Anyway once thats done the next step was to visit the showroom to select the carpet. We arrived at the showroom and the person who deals with this was with another customer so we waited for about 10 minutes. When he finished with the customers , rather than he coming to us straight, he decided browse his phone ignoring us and the receptionist who kept saying to him about us waiting. Finally he came to us not with a pleasant face and adviced me about the price bracket of the carpets we are allowed to choose.. but he didnt have the patience to listen to my needs and what i want , rather he kept going back to the one which he wants to sell . The prices seems not 'Rite' at all ... I was thinking about some engineed wooden floor and he kept saying 'forget it' (Like 'its too dear you cant afford it') , although i told him that i will pay the difference. In the end we decided to walk out and go somewhere else (Informed the insurer that we will go for a 'Cash payment' ) Not...
Read moreI ordered carpet (supply and fitting) through Rite Price and made payment a few days later. The carpet fitters left a visibly-damaged chrome strip sitting proud leading to a bedroom. They also left a complete mess of off cuts. I understand fitters have to pay to dispose of them but they left them scattered far and wide for me and my wife to gather. I was at work at the time of fitting. I phoned the following day (Tuesday) to explain the situation and instead of being prioritised to have the strip fixed, I was told Thursday was the next available slot (I live a two minute drive from the store). They didn’t show up, despite me rearranging to make sure someone was in. I phoned to ask what happened and was offered no explanation but was told they would “definitely” attend on Friday. Again, they did not attend. I went to the store the following day to explain and was told by the manager that the service was unacceptable and asked to email photos. I did so, but received no response and no compensation, which meant that I had to accept the “unacceptable” service. Someone eventually did attend to replace the strip, which took about two minutes. Initially, Rite Price were quick to follow-up with calls (twice) to get confirmation and payment from me but showed little action in order to get the...
