This is my first ever review online, but I genuinely felt the Greenbank Hotel deserved a recommendation. I stayed there for 5 weeks whilst looking for accommodation and it was the most reasonable price in the area. The hotel was only a stone throw away from the hospital, which was ideal for work purposes. Also, Darlington town centre was less than a 10 minute walk making the cost even more attractive. ||||The hotel is a family run business and their personal service made it feel like a home from home. They are willing to go the extra mile, as the owner even personally showed me around the nearby amenities and parks to help me really settle in the town. ||The outdoor area is very nicely designed and relaxing, particularly in the sun, and they also have a military bar with a range of sports being televised ||The breakfast menus included in the price offered great variety and would genuinely rate the cooked breakfast as 10/10. They also provided a wide selection of freshly cooked meals in the evening for a very reasonable price, which was ideal after returning from work and flexible around my timetable.||||My En-suite room was spacious and more than what I needed, as I had 3 beds to myself! My room was also provided with a smart TV which made it even better. The mattresses are extremely comfy and all newly fitted. Clothes washing and ironing facilities were also included in the price and there were no issues with the WIFI speed.||||A lot of people were staying there throughout the 5 weeks. The owners are down to earth and I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants an authentic experience in Darlington. They are very accommodating to people who are also looking for longer-term deals. Thank...
Read moreWe needed to find an overnight stay as we had to make an unexpected visit to a relative at Darlington Hospital. When I telephoned to make the booking they were very helpful and we were offered a double en-suite room. Upon arrival we found street parking no problem and although we were early they welcomed us and let us take a door key so we could easily check in later. The room was ideal, spacious and clean with everything we needed. The owners were very friendly. The hotel is ideally situated for access to the hospital, it’s only a 10 minute walk away and also only a short walk to Darlington town centre. The breakfast was spot on, nicely cooked and set us up for the day. Would happily use this hotel again. As an aside, there are some awesome pictures and displays of military/naval history memorabilia on display in the communal areas that would interest anyone with a passing interest in British history. Thanks for sorting us out with an overnight stay at the...

We had been booked into Hallgarth Country Club but due to family mobility problems we had cancel and look elsewhere. I booked greenback as it sounded lovely but by time we got through to taxi firms due to Gay pride night in Darlington my phone died we arrived and they had taken booking off street. We were left to stand on doorstep with my wife in pain with her legs and had try book somewhere else. We were stood on someone else's front step like divys and just wanted get home with two kids getting bored. Taxi guy was brilliant tried help us get booked somewhere but since my wife struggled get in taxi she got into panic attack it certainly wasn't best day ever. I don't doubt it was probably lovely place just not very good first...
