No-frills cheap hotel for business stays, rather like Premier Inn Hub. Once checked in, the room card will open the front door off street (sensor to the left side and not obvious) but the front lobby is quite brightly-lit and staffed, so assistance is on hand. Upon checking in, I was presented with some tickets for breakfast.
I liked modern touches in the room - and was grateful to see nice big coat hooks up on the wall. There are touch-button controls in the bed's headboard to dim the mood lighting but over on the wall are further settings for specific colours (sunset yellow, cool blue - I had fun flicking it to deep red like a Film Noir Detective illuminated by outside neon signs) as well as enabling colour-cycling so that the room languidly progressed through all shades of the spectrum whilst I watched a film. A wall port one side of the bed contained a USB socket for charging, but there's only one (nothing over on the other side) giving the impression this was a double bed placed in a single room and I found the room smaller than the equivalent Hub, slightly cramped with having to shift around a suitcase and things just to navigate the room.
The en-suite shower and bathroom were somewhat compact, quite bijou - I guess someone wider or taller would keep knocking themselves so may prefer a larger room.
Breakfast was downstairs in a breakfast bar, and required the ticket to redeem the breakfast, but oddly they asked for my room number instead so I'm not sure what the issued tickets were for. It's a continental affair in which you're presented with a small tray (airline style) and left to grab additional pastries, muesli, yoghurt etc all in portioned pots from the cabinets, as well as fresh juices. Coffee is included in the price, but issued from the bar.
The breakfast room also doubles as a common room: there are plenty of power points (including USB outlets) both on the high bars and also scattered around the dining tables, so it's also a comfortable place to work with pleasant views.
I had chosen this hotel for the convenience of location (near my office) and for a few nights where I simply wanted a...
Read moreA little disappointed with this hotel which is a shame I will point out that the staff was lovely though.
The hotel in general was nice sempt clean couldn't fault the cleanliness the only things what let it down really is at night and the area was quite you could hear and and feel the underground not as bad luckily we was on the 3rd floor and I could still hear it i dont know if id have stayed if it was the basement the rooms are small I know it says box room but couldn't stay longer then what we did we stopped 3 days. It says tea and coffee facilities but unfortunately every time you want a drink you have to go to the lobby and pay £2.50 a coffee which i think with how much we've payed for the room should be complimentary the ibis down the road is cheaper and you have this there's no mini fridge so you can't even keep water or pop £13 for a continental breakfast it was ok for 1 day but it was the same produce everyday just didn't add to the worth having we found it cheaper and better to go elsewhere which is a shame.
The flooring wasn't fitted in places and the decor skirting boards ect wasn't in place properly. When your paying the price you want a good standard.
And a slight bug bare your check out time is 11 on the day of leaving my mother inlaw just popped to our room to see what was happening at 10 the next minute the cleaners was in the room moving things cleaning they shouldn't attempt to get in until check out was confirmed. You all so put do not disturb on the touch screen and this turns its self off the handle all so fell of the door.
They all so wanted £3 per bag to store until check in or after eg if you had to wait till later for your transport worth noting this is including suit bags, dress bags which we was informed and as we was there for an event we had a couple of these bags plus luggage and shopping items...
Read moreMy friend arrived with her 12-year-old son and, on the very first night, suffered a severe panic attack during the early hours of the morning. The room she was given was extremely small and claustrophobic, which contributed significantly to her distress. Not knowing it was a panic attack, she had to be taken to the Royal Hospital as she was struggling to breathe. Adding to her panic, she had to leave her son alone in the hotel room—an extremely stressful situation for any mother. Thankfully, some attention was given to the child during her absence, for which she is grateful.
The next day, she asked to change rooms, even offering to pay for a larger one. She was told, that there were no other rooms available. However, that day, another friend arrived—traveling alone—and was given a much larger room. This inconsistency in your staff’s response is highly questionable and unacceptable.
To make matters worse, on the third night at around midnight, the air conditioning unit in her room broke down. When she reported it to the reception, she was moved to an even smaller room than the first. Not only was she given no assistance with moving her luggage, but she was also asked to remain quiet while changing rooms—at midnight, in the middle of a frustrating situation. This level of customer service is absolutely shocking.
Her total stay lasted six nights, and instead of enjoying her time in London, she was constantly under stress due to the poor handling of the situation by your staff and the lack of empathy shown throughout. They travelled from Venezuela!
This was her very first time in London, and this experience has left a terrible impression— it’s important to warn others of the service she received to avoid similar...
