Not the best experience. Will never stay there again me and my fiance stayed through Friday July 12th through Sunday July 14th. When we got there there was nobody at the front desk. We rang the bell twice and waited for at least 5 minutes with no response. Then finally I called the number and got a hold of whoever was running the place and she said she would be right with us. After 10 more minutes she finally showed up and then told us our room would not be ready as housekeeping had called in and told us that it would be ready in 15 minutes. So after we left and came back we walked to our room where there was a guy in it doing. I don't know what I asked him if the room was ready. He said yes upon walking in it smelled very musty like water had been left to set and would proceed to smell it every time we left and would come back. The air conditioner sounded like it was going to die all weekend and barely kept the room cool. After we got into the room, the manager was attempting to bring towels. I guess and told us that she would be back to bring us some towels which never happened. We ended up having to get our own The next day we got up to go see some family and there was no breakfast. The gate was still down at 9:30 when we left we came back around 11:30 and no one was still in the office and still the gate was shut taking a shower was not any better as the water was not getting hot at all. It was lukewarm at best I believe I only saw the front desk worker only one other time that entire weekend we were there and Sunday when we left still no breakfast or coffee I went outside to have a cigarette as we were getting ready to pack up and leave and the awning that is supposed to be reserved for customers to drop off individuals was taking up by two different vehicles all weekend preventing anybody from using it. I'm presuming it was the manager's car so nobody a with a disability or a senior citizen could use it to access the door closely. It seemed like it was being used for a personal cover for employees car as I was proceeding to check out, there was nobody at the front desk gate was still closed so I called the number and left a voicemail saying I was checking out and I left the key under the...
Read moreMaybe... I may.. place a pet there.. but it is not fit for humans!!. Would never suggest this hole to anyone. Horrible. It is one very sorry excuse for a motel.. for such a lovely beautiful town. NO REFRIGERATOR, MICROWAVE..NO CLEAN TOWELS, SOAP ..NO A.M. FOOD..A LOT OF AWFUL STRANGE LOUD NOISE FROM THE SECOND FLOOR FOOT TRAFFIC MAKING THE BUILDING MOVE. Geezzzz I wish I was making this up, but I am not. We had reservations. But when signing-in after 12 hours driving....they said the paint was still wet and apologized. "What PAINT??" The wet painted Bath Tub !! SO the paint floated away every time the tub got wet!! No kidding! Plus they didn't have a showerhead to take a normal shower. They said that was being worked on!? Eeeks. Yes yes yes I was losing it not only the first 15 minutes, but everyday. The racket was awful. I love kids & even a bit a noise ...but not from 2:00 a.m.- 7:45 a.m. !!!... What an ordeal..
Since we had NO CHIOCE BUT 2 STAY 4 OVER A WEEK....... I CAN HONESTLY SAY THIS PLACE SUCKS!!! Read the next paragraph.
SIGNS SAY TO MAKE YOUR BED. PICK-UP YOUR TOWELS LIKE YOU DO AT HOME. PUT YOUR TRASH OUT IF YOU WANT WE WILL TAKE IT.
OMG!!! NO SOAP /NO CLEAN SHEETS or TOWELS, EVER!!! WE ACTUALLY CHASED DOWN the desk clerk to beg for towels the first two nights.. TOOK OUR OWN TRASH OUT DAILY. BROUGHT IN OUR OWN TOWELS TOILETRIES, COMFORTER & bed pillows...:-) KMART is just across the road so you can walk there and also to McDonalds.
Gross odor hits you as soon as you open the second door, it leads you down a dark moist corridor to your room.... With myriad of noises from families with children "living in the motel".. playing outside the rooms in the hall and hanging-out by the one picnic table & narrow dark stinky corridors. The entire building shakes & vibrates the walls and ceiling from the upstairs foot traffic, doors, very nasty bathrooms,...
Read moreReservation for king bed was not honored. I was given a room with two small beds because they ran out of rooms with a king bed - I asked if it was first come, first served despite having a reservation and she did not say no, she kept saying that other people had checked in before me, so they ran out of rooms with a king bed. Then, when I got to the room - there was no coffee pot, no kleenex, and most importantly, No Cold Water! It was impossible to flush the filthy toilet, wash my face, brush my teeth, or take a shower. There was a dead bug on the back of the sink area. There were 2 inch long black hairs in the shower that were not mine - my hair is long and blonde / gray. The phone system did not work, I could not call the reception desk. When I went to the reception desk, there was a sign with a number to call, with a phone placed beside the sign, but that phone did not work. I had to call with my cell phone. Meanwhile, the reception desk phone kept chirping every 5 seconds or so (she said there was a glitch in the system). In the morning, she gave me a key card to a room across the hall so I could shower, etc., and I ended up getting the room free because of these difficulties. The heating system sounded like a 747 revving up to take off. The bed only had a sheet, a thin blanket, and a thin bedspread coving it, in Iowa, in the middle of winter. Despite turning up the 747 heater, I was still cold all night. There was a small pot of coffee in the morning in the reception area but no breakfast items at all. I thought there was supposed to be muffins or something. But I assure you, I will NEVER stay at ANY hotel 8 ever again in...
