Island Beach Motor Lodge — Hotel in Berkeley Township

I started going to the Motor Lodge 27 years ago.. My sisters and brother and I go every year in July which is the busy time of year. Every year we are reunited with other families who we got to know by going every year. This year 6 families were at the pool with grandchildren of the children we got to know. It was unbelievable. We are all like family.. this year was terrible because my baby sister passed away in May and we knew it would be hard on my Sister and Brother and I.. but we went away... Well, let me tell you this.. Our that is right OUR Island Beach Motor Lodge staff and our friends made us feel so wonderful.. Gerri and Eileen in the Office could not had made us feel anymore comfortable in sharing our grief of our Sister.. The friends that come for years hugged us and we talked about Sister Suzie.. For my Sisters children being in the same room for all these years did not have to feel a void without her there.. I love our Island Beach Motor Lodge and the people in it.. We now rent many rooms when our family comes down and our family is growing.. My new granddaughter will arrive in June and will be the newest little one at the Motor Lodge.. .. Thank you Gerri for the beautiful flowers you have waiting for us when we arrive. She does a beautiful job and is very kind.. Eileen is the smile behind the desk who wants to know how have you been.. and the weekly people like Bern from New York and her family and the all the others.. are ready to welcome you to our Motor lodge. thank you Mr. Leone for owning and letting so many families come year after year to enjoy your place.. I hope this remains for years to come so that the new families can build friends like we have.. Tina...

Our families having been staying here for over 35 years. We love the location with a private beach, pool and big rooms with balconies. You can walk to a few good restaurants quite easily. We would always call to book the room and make a deposit, then pay the balance at the motel. This year, my husband noticed that IBML had deducted the balance of the fee from our checking account without telling us, before we got to the motel. Luckily, it wasn't a big balance (you could easily spend $1,000 for a week's stay in season) but it was still disturbing. When we got to IBML, we found they we still doing "Covid protocols" so we had to knock on the door to speak with someone. She insisted that they "always" deducted the balance that way (no they haven't) and that they send us instructions about it (no they didn't.} We had absolutely no idea, otherwise we would have given them a credit card and not a debit card in the first place. ||It should be noted that IBML is the only hotel we've stayed in at the Jersey Shore since June 2020 that still refuses to clean the room (again due to Covid.) They claimed they leave a bag of fresh towels outside the room every other day but they did not. The laundry is only open until 4 pm so we never got a chance to ask for fresh towels. IBML has been our go-to place at the Shore for decades but it seems like they're giving the guests less but charging...
