Zero star's our room reservation was supposed to be 2 adjacent rooms one handicap double bed the other a king. We have 1 handicap and another room both kings. Ok that's wrong but we can deal with it I go and buy a air mattress for my 8 and 9 year old kids to sleep on. Handicap shower has a piece of plastic blocking the drain. My son got in a shower and it completely flooded the floor. I call to the front desk. Ask for towels or a squeegee. They say they will bring on right down this was at 10 o'clock at 2 o'clock still nothing went to the front desk they gave us 4 towels and we went back for 2 more that dried the tile floor after we used all our towels allotted for personal use. But the carpet from the entrance door to about a foot from the bed is soaked. The next day I called for more towels to continue sopping up the mess. The girl promptly brought them to us. (She was the only staff that was an actual help I wish I had caught her name) I informed her what happened and she says she will get maintenance right away. About 10 mins later... 2 gentlemen show up with a shop vacuum walk into the bathroom and say there is no water. I try to explain that it is the carpet. But there is a language barrier. So they do nothing but walk around the bathroom then proceed to spray this random orange spray all over the carpet and my personal effects and leave. So I asked for more towels to lay down on the carpet. It soaks 6 towels and is still wet. It now smells horrible in my room (it never smelled great musty and moldy smelling) and I have repeated the process of using towels to sop up water. My daughter slipped on the tile going to the bathroom half asleep and has a huge bruise on her arm. This morning the manager or owner whoever comes beating on my door. (I thought it was housekeeping) and groggy me tells them we are good. He and another guy the one from the shop vacuum episode is with him. He proceeds to tell me that there is a smell coming from our room. Yes, I have told 4 different people about this. He says "Are you destroying my room? I want to check the room." I gladly let him see through the open door. He doesn't walk in, he doesn't do ANYTHING! Never offered us to change rooms never bothered to help at all. I went to the store and bought Febreeze sprayed it all around etc. It still smells horrible. I HAVE FOUND THE SOURCE OF THE STENCH THE TOILET WAS LEAKING THIS WHOLE TIME! We thought it was excess water from the shower no... no it is not. If you have read this far and still decide to stay here... God help you. Also... look at my sisters sons foot that is how bad these carpets are. I wouldn't allow him to play on the floor I made him play on a sheet. I will never stay here again or recommend this hotel. If it wasn't already paid for we would of left. But no where else had a handicap...
Read moreWhen we pulled up, I noticed the building needs pressure washing. There were some people in the parking lot that gave me the impression they were homeless. We weren't accosted by them or begged for money. The front desk man was polite. He let me know that their credit card machine was down. I had already purchased a room ahead of time though to save money and my card had been charged already. That's how that deal works and it's non refundable. I had to keep explaining and he realized a form had been printed out ahead of time thank goodness or I think we would have lost a room and our money. The front area did not have very clean floors and there was boxes with caution tape around them. It wasn't a welcoming lobby. I noticed the indoor pool was closed for repairs. The hallway as we were going to our room smelled of smoke. When we got to our room, it did not smell of smoke thankfully as we paid for a non-smoking room. It was nice and cool like they had expected us. The room seemed somewhat clean. Like it was quickly cleaned and I found things like hair in corners and some dust on furniture. The bedding was clean. The carpet was vacuumed but, very grubby. The refrigerator and microwave needed to be cleaned out. That night I heard a woman yelling and a man with a rough voice and some loud car music. Later I realized that I think the staff at the hotel were trying to help the homeless people. I think they have some compassion for them. The whole time we were there the homeless people did not bother us. The cleaning lady was very nice. She was by herself and really needs some help. I can't imagine doing all of that cleaning and no help. Some of the people up front in the parking lot had dogs and were hotel guests. The hotel is pet friendly and alot of nice people with animals like to stay there. It seems like the employees did the best they could with limited resources. The staff seemed polite.
The corporate headquarters needs to see about the following: Pressure washing the front of the building. Building a small patio area that is fenced in for pet owners to walk their pets and have privacy. Please get the pool fixed. Get more cleaning help. One person can't do it all. Invest in a ventilation system upgrade and get the bathroom vents fixed. There is mildew on the ceiling and this could help it. My husband felt sick and wonders if it was from the mildew. Find out if you have any leaks. Repaint the ceilings and rooms. Replace the carpet. Fix the dry wall. Steam clean the cloth chairs. Invest in some simple landscaping. Some ornamental trees could do wonders. Things being worn but, clean is much more acceptable. Being no frills is fine. Having the place grungy and things not working is not fine. This can be improved and you might get more customers and...
Read moreNot the prettiest place, a bit rough around the edges, but comfortable if you're used to lower-middle class accomodations. Inexpensive too. Definitely some gripes, but I'll go over the things I liked first.
Staff was very nice and easygoing. Everything functions properly, and our room at least had all the usual commodities you'd expect at a more expensive or higher rated place; microwave, mini fridge, extra toiletries, coffee maker and that sort of stuff. And a very cool sink faucet that I'd like to get for my own home. Bed was hella comfortable too, and even the couch was clean and fairly comfy. Really felt like visiting relatives that are used to having guests over on a budget, and do their best with stuff that's survived countless family visits. Not glamorous, not new, but kinda homey somehow.
The stuff I wasn't impressed with. If you've got a lot of luggage and got a room on the 2nd floor, there's not an elevator that I could find. Stairs however were wide and well lit. The other big gripe was all the outlets were upsidedown, and didn't hold my wall charges very well. Nothing else really bothered me personally, although nothing else really impressed me either, and some people may find distasteful.
Little sketchy in general. Plenty of holes in the walls that have been patched, furniture was a bit scuffed up, front panel of the AC unit was cracked but still blew plenty cold, sink basin was chipped, and a vent was hanging loose. And I saw a total of 2 small wood roaches. They were the only two I saw during my stay, and I've lived in apartments with ACTUAL infestations before including those giant cockroaches, and that was definitely not the case here. But I did see a couple little ones and I know that's a deal breaker for some people. Bathroom door looked like someone punched it or knocked something heavy into it, and the side exit door was missing the push handle.
If you're looking for a luxury hotel, this ain't it. If you're (for some reason) looking for the worst hotel experience possible, this also ain't it. It's a middle of the pack, inexpensive, comfortable rest when you're out of town. I'd honestly stay here again unless I found a similar priced place closer to family, or won a lottery...
