Eastern Shore Retreats — Hotel in Chincoteague

My family rented the house that is called “My tern” and was very disappointed. The pictures of the house makes it look like it is a beautiful up to date house, this was not the case! Everything about this house is outdated. There is two tv’s one with a few channels in the living room and the other one is a box tv with no channels. The WiFi is slower than dial up internet. The door off of Main Street is not the door that they give you a key( because the door off of Main Street is still using a skeleton key) to you have to walk to the back door through the dark yard to get to the door that is only a screen door. A cleaning fee was included in the price but we had to sweep all of the floors before we left or they would take money out of the security deposit. We would not recommend this house or rental service to anyone. If you are looking to rent a house for a vacation do not use this rental service. I had to give one star to be able to post this review but I would not give it even a 1/2 star. I just wanted the review to be posted so people know how much of a ripoff this is. We paid $700 with a $200 security deposit so over $1000 after taxes and fees for 3 nights which would be fine if it was an up to date house...

This is a great place. We stayed at one of their properties for our vacation. I would go back.

What I loved most was how quiet and relaxed the place was. The space is very open and supplies a lot of natural lighting so you do not need to turn on the lights all the time.

This is an older property, however, you can tell that it is very well maintained.

The only drawback I had were the bugs. I swear, the flies bite worst than the mosquitoes. I have never been bitten so hard by flies before. You will need to take a lot of bug repellant to stave off the insects. We were there in June.

There are a lot of restaurants, some within walking distance. Mr Bailey's restaurant was right next door to where we stayed so we were able to walk to them for breakfast.

This is a great area for fishing if you like to do so. The people are friendly as well. As I said, we would go back there.

No Wal-Mart or any of those chain stores. Prices are a little high as well so I would take what I can with me to avoid making a lot of...

We have rented the "Shoes Off" property from Eastern Shore Retreats two years in a row, and have been consistently pleased with the accommodations and the ease of the rental process. The house was spotless, well stocked, and comfortable. The staff at Eastern Shore Retreats have always been eager to answer any questions we had and are extremely professional and friendly. I hope the people who I return my keys to at the end of the week don't think I am rude - I can never thank them because I am usually close to tears over the thought of leaving our favorite...
