The customer service at Sea Captain is terrible. I booked a room online for my husbands birthday for after the Tampa Bay Rays game. We were told that the office closed at 9 pm and the hotel next door would have our keys. We arrived at ~11:45 pm and got the keys to our room. We were told that we were in room 6 but the key did not open this room. We found out after about 30 minutes it was a key to room 9, but the deadbolt was latched and the key would not open it. After multiple calls to the manager, who didn't answer any of the phone call attempts, the kind staff at Pier House 60 was able to locate a room for us. This morning we went to Sea Captain to get a refund for our room, that we NEVER stepped foot into, and we're told that we could get 1/3 of the cost, about $25-50, but the girl at the front desk, after contacting a manager, was not able to authorize a refund and the manager was not able to come in. When I asked for her to contact the manager on the phone and let me speak to her, she advised me that she would take my number and 'pass it on'. I asked her to call her, as she did not 10 minutes earlier, but I was told she could rwCh her on the phone and she would pass on my number. Another customer came in to book a room and after booking the wrong room, was told that he could get a refund in the evening as they never went in the room. I asked if that could be done for us as we were unable to enter our room, and I was told this was 'different'. After waiting an hour, we were asked to leave the lobby/office area and after saying we would wait outside the office for the phone call, we were asked to vacate the property or she would call the police. Ruined my husbands birthday, ruined our trip, and ruined our plans for the...

Read moreI have grown up going to the Sea Captain. Up until this past year I had nothing bad to say about the hotel. However this year was HORRIBLE. The hotel is officially completely a hole in the wall Motel (I would no longer consider this a Hotel). The rooms are disgusting and in complete shambles. Now, I would have overlooked all of this if the hotel cared about the safety and comfort of their guests. This year my family and I (young kids included) were surrounded by upper teens that spent their time yelling, swearing and boozing it up. I actually called Pier 60 to complain 3 times and nothing. I contacted a Manager by the name of Ashley I believe who offered us a discount towards a future stay.....ummm I don't think so. I requested to be reimbursed for the night I had to complain 3 times and nothing was done. Do not stay at this Motel or Pier 60. There are so many nicer accommodations along the beach. The customer service doesn't...
