I relocated to Texas for a job and needed a place to stay while my house is being built. I thought I had done thorough research. However, I was quite disappointed with the hotel overall. I chose it because of its proximity to my workplace and the advertised features, such as a pool with a handicap lift, a two-bedroom handicap suite, and grab-and-go breakfast. I have stayed in two-star hotels many times before without any issues, but I would say this hotel is more like a one-star establishment. The staff is nice, but the customer service is lacking. The front desk is often unattended, and you have to wait for a long time to get assistance.
During my stay from 8/6 to 10/21, my room was only cleaned once. And when I say cleaned I am saying they changed the linen and I am not quite sure the blanket they gave me was clean because I always felt like something was crawling on me after they changed it. I had to refuse some towels because they were gray and dingy. I mentioned to the desk clerk that usually hotels discard towels that are gray, and his response was something about the amount of towels they would have to throw out. Not sure how that should be my problem. I asked to borrow a broom, but they didn't have one, so I ended up buying a robot vacuum from the five and below store. The amount of dust, hair, and debris in the room that did not come from us was disgusting and alarming. Even on the last day, the vacuum was still picking up other people's hair. The curtain on my closet and the bedskirt was filthy, and despite requesting it to be replaced twice, it was never replaced. The bed was comfortable, though, and I managed to get a good night's sleep. The pillows were also super nice. I have to give them that.
I couldn't open the curtains because there were no sheer curtains or privacy options, so whenever I opened them, people walking their dogs would peer into my room. Speaking of dogs and my view, lots of poop to look at. Ewwwl. I was occasionally rushed by unleashed dogs, as some owners didn't follow the rules. There was no pool or breakfast as advertised. At first there were granola bars but that ended after a week or so. People stole the creamer, so I stopped drinking the coffee. The creamer provided was always open and cruddy. No thanks!! So there was nothing available for grab-and-go breakfast, and there were no nearby options either.
I had to wait over a week to receive kitchen dishes, and I was required to pay a $50 deposit that I didn't authorize. I noticed the charge on my statement and when I asked for a receipt, it had my signature they had on file printed on it as if I signed it!! I requested that my signature to be removed from their system, but they refused saying i agreed to it being stored. I would never so I am not sure how they snuck that on me. The hotel policies are ridiculous.
I moved to a different two-star hotel and the difference is astonishing. I almost feel like Extended Stay America owes me some money for my stay. Having to buy my own breakfast, cleaning supplies and a vacuum I will never use again. Also it will be a while before my skin recovers from all the scratches.
It was not the right type of hotel for me so I finally moved until I can move...
Read moreBooked the hotel for two bedroom and once arrived, was told they had given away our reservation. Here I am with two small children at 10:30 at night after visiting my father in the hospital, so of course I take the one bedroom “suite” they offered. I just accepted that I’m going to have to share my bed with the kids.
Immediately when entering, I noticed the living room TV was missing. Just a big empty area where it should be. Still a TV in the bedroom, but of course: no remote to that TV, and then when I turn it on, it doesn’t work. I check the back and the coax cable is missing, rendering the TV useless.
I noticed they made the bed but put a single pillow on the bed. Went to the front with small children in tow and asked for more, was told I’d have to wait, and returned to the room.
That’s when things just started piling up.
-Sat on the couch, it’s completely broken. -Looked at the furniture, there’s bright blue paint all over it and the floors and bathroom. -Went to throw something away and there’s no trash can anywhere in the suite. -Opened up the cabinets to look for trashcan, there’s a black, dirty, extremely sticky substance covering the edges and getting all over my hands. -Under the sink is DISGUSTING with MOLD and ROT everywhere. -Other cabinet is rigged with duct tape on the inside. DUCT TAPE. -Counter has extreme burn marks. -Went to call the front desk, there’s NO PHONE. -Picked up my stuff from counter to leave and notice my jacket is soaking wet on one side. There’s literally a SOAKING WET TOWEL laying on the counter. Why? Because the sink faucet is leaking so the staff decided to somehow rig it so the faucet drips less when positioned over the counter? So then they just put a towel underneath the dripping to solve the problem? I don’t know. -I won’t go into detail about the property’s serious disrepair. Missing signs, torn carpet, broken tile, things ripped from the walls, holes in the doors, dirty bathroom.
I packed up our stuff and my kids. No way was I going to allow my children to stay in a place like this. Even if it is 30 degrees outside and almost 11pm at this point.
I go to the front desk, someone is in front of me and the lady at the front desk is telling them that they GAVE AWAY THEIR RESERVATION AS WELL. She sees me and asks what do I need, I tell her we’re leaving because the room is disgusting. She waves me off and says, “Okay, I’ll cancel your reservation, bye.”
I tried to explain to her what was wrong with the room (not even raising my voice), and she kept talking over me telling me, “OKAY THANK YOU BYE BYE HAVE A GOOD NIGHT BYE.”
At that point I told the other people waiting that they were better off finding another hotel to stay at.
I sincerely hope whoever is reading this review will...
Read moreI just want to voice my opinion... This hotel is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at. And I have stayed at a few other Extended Stays and others that are not affiliated. Great customer service by far! My husband and I have been here 5 weeks. It is quite, not shady ppl walking around, safe, clean, rates are so reasonable and not to mention the entire hotel put brand new extremely nice furniture in every room! If that's not a plus I don't know what is and I am very picky. Now on a second note speaking of staff... Patricia the house keeper ( well that's not her title but you get the rest) is the most amazing woman! She will help anyone and everyone always. If she doesn't have the answer or a certain item you need, she is on a mission to aquire all of your needs. Lee works at the front desk and is never in a bad mood or rude in anyway. Very respectful and I adore him with his wonderful since of humor! Christie is the GM and she is wonderful as well. Very accommodating, professional and actually cares. I would strongly recommend just even s hitopping by to check out the hotel! You will be very pleased just as my husband and I are. Just Fyi we are not related so this post comes from the heart! I think ppl need credit where credit is deserved. Sorry so long, but thanks for reading!!! 💯 Joei! PS: Plz do not listen to negative reviews. There will always be a person that has something bad to say on a daily, but will usually not post a positive response. Those individuals will never be happy. Plz do not read those I can promise you they are completely untrue! I will continously compliment and do what I can to explain my fabulous experience here, the reason is they deserve every bit of great posts! Shout out Thelma I love you just as well, she is the head house keeper and I was a jerk and didn't mention her. Better late than never. Lol.... Thx again viewers for reading this so long of a post. But it was worth it! 👌👍 Also the pics online do no justice absolutely Everything has been updated and is brand new! You will be extremely pleased just as my husband...
