Budget Host Inn — Hotel in Fort Collins

So much to say about this place. Let me start by saying you might be better off at the America's Best Value just north of here. The list of things wrong with the room I stayed in are as follows: 1 outlet by dining table Did not work 2 the in-room phone did not work at all 3 the fresh donuts they serve in the morning are anything BUT fresh. Personally, I think they get them at the local food bank located nearby & freeze them. In the morning they put out a box that is stale & just gross. 4 the coffee is very weak 5 the clothes rod in my room was directly over the nightstand do either you don't hand up anything long in length, our don't use the nightstand. Your choice. 6 the bedspread had a top in it 7 refrigerator freezer had do much I've build-up s BAG of ice barely got into the freezer. No ice buckets are provided. 8 the curtains were outdated & in very poor condition 9 neither the bathroom our main window cranks portrayed properly requiring me to go outside & posh the window closed 10 the tv cable remote had the batteries taped in & the remote itself would frequently stop changing the channels 11 the carpet was very old & very dirty

Even paying $55 night ($65 w/tax) which is relatively cheap, I think was still too much for my room. Oh, the microwave door would not open unless you physically pulled it open and the phone cord that plugged into the pack had exposed wiring & the Jack itself dangling from the wall-a definite fire...

It has a rather tired air about it. Some attempt has been made to smarten it up but it needs more than just a holding operation. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful - hence the two stars - even directing us to a local Chinese restaurant. We were in a rather strange room. It looked as if it was meant for longer stays as there was a separate room with a large sink and a wall-mounted TV - althought there was only one chair in it and you couldn't see the TV from the bed. When we mentioned to the receptionist that it was sold as a non-smoking room and that it really did have a strong smell of cigarette smoke, we were given a can of air freshner.... Maybe I'm looking for too much for my money but the minimum I would hope for is that the electrical appliances were safe and not held together with sticky tape. Given its position just off the main through route, it needs to get its act together, have some money spent on it and start earning...

I had my friend come by with my tax refund which had just arrived at my old residence. She showed up at 6am and stayed for a few hours and upon leaving found out her car was towed. To Greeley. 300 dollars to get it out. I spoke with the office lady who stated her husband knocked on all the doors to see who's car it was. There wasn't any posted signs and we were awake and no one knocked. Other than that the boards under one bed were broken, there was no phone in the room, the reading lights cord had been cut, the remote control for the TV was broken and the channel stuck on qvc channel. Online price was 37 a night but I was told they don't honor any online pricing supposedly the rooms are renovated. When I said I would go to competitor they dropped price to slightly above them. 200 for 3 days. It will get you off the streets but don't have guests atleast not...
