READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING, ESPECIALLY IF STAYING WITH SMALL CHILDREN First off the pictures shown are not at all what the rooms look like* Very misleading. The grounds are extremely well kept but hotel rooms are very outdated and seem not even up to code, to say the least. My family of 3 (2 adults & 5 yr old) stayed twice, coming & going, from our WDW vacation this past summer. We never stayed at a Best Western prior & due to having great prices, lower than any of the other hotels in that area, we decided how bad can it be. Boy we were in for a surprise. Both stays which were 1 day each, 2 weeks apart, the rooms were supposed to be exactly the same with same amenities & such but they were not. Our 2nd stay on the way back from WDW the room only had bathroom, beds & tv with dresser. Absolutely no other furniture what so ever even though you could clearly see where those amenities/furniture used to be. It was supposed to be the same as when we stopped on our way down, which had beds, dresser with tv, small table, 2 chairs, mini fridge & microwave. The deal breaker for me though to never ever ever stay at this location again, not even for 1 night. AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT TO BOOK IT HERE ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN WHO WOULD BE CRAWLING AROUND OR JUST CLOSE TO THE FLOORS/RUGS IN GENERAL... the rooms were ALWAYS** dusty, musty, stale and very damp to say the least. Not to mention not very clean one bit. If you have even the slightest allergies then don’t even bother staying here. At 1st we assumed our linens & rugs may have just been washed thats why they were so wet but we soon came to realize that was not the case. There was no ventilation throughout the room. Both rooms were like that. We had a non smoking and smoking room. It left us feeling sticky, damp, and smelly the whole time we spent in GA. We tried to not even be in the room as much as possible because the stench, dust, dampness and mustiness was so overwhelming. Also my daughter who has never had allergies a day in her life had them so severely ONLY while we were at that Best Western due to condition of the rooms. We stayed at many hotels to & from WDW and only this one affected her. The rugs aside from constantly being damp and smelly were just plain old and dirty. You can tell they vacuumed a little & made the beds but that was it. Piles of dirt/dust in the corners & on walls. The bathroom was very tight & the tub/shower was scary that we never dared to step foot in it and we didnt until our next destination. The beds were comfy but linens had stains. Pillow cases were brighter white though. The towels, preferably face cloths, were very grey and dingy. They needed a good bleaching for sure. Plus one of the locks on the door into our room was broken on our first stay but on our way back from Disney which was the 2nd time there, the adjoining door between the rooms didn’t even shut all the way. It looked as if someone prior tried breaking through it to the other room. We could see our neighbors through the space and they could us. The staff said there were no other available rooms. My fiancé piled our luggage in front of it & slept in front that door all night. We are heading back to WDW next summer and stopping for the night at Gateway Plaza again but definitely not staying at this Best Western. I rather pay that extra money to stay at 1 of the other hotels in that area that i know strives to be consistent and make the customers experience a good one. Oh yeah also the staff at BW was a hit or miss. Most of them extremely rude & could care less about the customer but there were a very limited few that were plesant. Please dont be like me and think "well its only 1 night," do not even attempt it if you'll have babies crawling around or anything. The air quality is terrible, unsafe. Giving 2 stars because the rooms were actually a pretty decent size, the pool was clean & nice, and the lobby staff was more than kind to switch 1 of my arrival days even though my reservation has a strict no cancellation &...
Read moreThis is literally the worst hotel experience I've ever had in my life. My kids and I went to Disney in November of 2021, it was our first time traveling in an electric car. I found this hotel on the PlugShare app listed as having Tesla chargers. I called to make sure that they had the chargers and that they were working, and to see if they weren't blocked by gas cars and that I would have one available to charge on. A lot of hotels you get there and the chargers are blocked or not working so you always have to call to be sure. I was promised a charger so we drove from Orlando to here. This place seemed nice based on the reviews from TripAdvisor...boy were they wrong.||I had contracted the flu at Disney and here I was with three kids on my own trying to get them back home without any help. I was completely exhausted when we arrived around 11pm. All I wanted to do was take cold medicine, get a shower, and go to bed and get some much needed rest.||The problems started as soon as we arrived. We were told our room lock didn't work. The door would lock but it wouldn't unlock except with a physical metal key. I was tired so I agreed to take the room, I seriously didn't have the energy to just find another hotel nearby with a charger, a decision I'd soon regret. The manager opened the room for us and I had one of my kids stay in the room to open it while the other two and I got our belongings. It seemed like a shady area so I wanted to bring everything inside.||As soon as we were unloaded and started looking around we were all disgusted by what we saw. Poop stains in the toilet. Holes in the wall. Mold all over the bathroom. The room smelled and there was a 1" gap at the door, no weather strip so you can hear every noise outside. The icing on the cake was the brown stain on my sheets. At this point I was dying, I couldn't leave if I tried so we had to stay. I told the kids to sleep in their clothes on top of the bedding there. We luckily had a couple blankets from the car that we could put down.||There wasn't much rest despite the nighttime cold medicine I took, I still had a hard time sleeping given the condition of the room and all the noise outside. The outside of the hotel should have been an indication of what we were in for. About midway through the hotel there were trash bags full and lined up by the wall. Trash cans over flowing. All of the sidewalks were stained black with grease and dirt. I can't believe I had to put my poor children through such an experience but I felt like I had no other choice. Please do yourself a favor and don't even consider...
Read moreWe stayed at the Clarion on 12/20/2019. The room was booked and paid in advance through a 3rd party vendor. When we checked in, the front desk clerk had the reservation in the computer and stated that the room was paid in advance. However, she asked for a credit card for incidentals. Since we arrived around 11pm and were leaving by 5am, we knew we would not have any incidentals, but I know it is common practice for a hotel to require a credit card just in case. Therefore, I gave her my credit card. The room was fine and we slept well. No complaints there. When we checked out the next morning, the front desk clerk stated that she did not have a receipt for us since it was paid through a 3rd party. For the next week, we were on a cruise and I did not have access to my credit card charges. When we returned the next Saturday, I saw that Clarion had charged $86.25 to my credit card. I called the hotel and was told by the front desk person that she could see it was a mistake, but she could not fix it. I would have to talk with the manager who would not be back until Monday. She took my contact information so the manager could call me. When I did not get a call on Monday, I called the hotel again on Tuesday and was given the manager's voicemail. I left a very detailed message and asked for a call back. I still did not get a call. I called again on Thursday and told the person answering the phone that I did not want voicemail again. She put me on hold to radio the manager. When she came back on the line, she stated she was transferring me to the manager, but it went to voicemail again. I left another very detailed message and indicated that I had already left 2 previous messages. When I did not receive a call back, I decided to file a dispute with my credit card company. I have waited this long to write a review because I was hoping the hotel would clear things up with the credit card dispute. I was hoping not to have to leave a bad review for them because the stay was fine. It is the customer service afterwards that has been the problem. Anyway, two months later, I am still having to work with the credit card company on the dispute. Therefore, I wanted to let other people know of the risk of staying at this hotel if you book your stay through a 3rd party. You may very well spend a couple months trying to keep from being charged twice...
