After staying in 30+ hotels in 15 months, I can say this place is a little gem for the cost, and better than several at a higher price. Don't be swayed by the reviews from a year ago. Traveling on business, we need a cost effective, clean, quiet place to sleep, with truck /camper parking. The manager was a very friendly lady, making sure we got the kind of room we needed. There were several pickup trucks of working men in the parking lot. They were respectful and went into their rooms at a reasonable time. The room has been redecorated and was clean. They have the basics. The king bed was a little softer than I like, but I slept very well and so did my husband. The pillows were not flat like most budget hotels. The sheets were clean. The room was clean. They had 2 towels and washcloths, 2 bars soap, shampoo, 2 plastic cups and an ice bucket. The shower worked good. The refrigerator was cold and the freezer even refroze my ice packs. The microwave worked. The flat screen tv on the wall seems to work good. We didn't have time to check out the channels. WiFi worked as I used it for my phone to update. We didn't eat breakfast but it looked like they had coffee and cereal. There are several restaurants along the road; however, we waited 15 minutes for the McDonald's across the street to give us 2 breakfast burritos. The Rodeway Inn had several vehicles parked there when we drove up while the other motel parking lots on that road were bare which should say something about the place. So if you're looking for HiDef sports channels, hair dryers, coffee pots, indoor pools, fitness centers and a mint on the pillow, go pay $50 more at a Holiday Inn. Since we travel on business, when we find clean, safe, cost effective places, we return there when we travel that route again. This is one of...
Read moreHazlehurst, Mississippi is not known for anything........it's a blip on a Mississippi map and that's about it. But.........our daughter lives in a neighboring town that doesn't offer but one B&B which is on the railroad track and run by a lady that works when she feels like it and has been known to leave a note on the door for expected guests while she went to dinner and a movie! So, choices aren't great in that area. We were so excited to see this Rodeway Inn opening up and decided to give it a try. Our expectations weren't high because you won't find a Hilton or Hyatt anywhere near Hazlehurst, but we were nicely surprised by the experience. Our bed was comfortable, fresh linens every day, friendly staff. What more do you need? Oh.......and the Wifi was speedy and the water hot and plentiful. Like I said, what more could you ask for? We didn't eat breakfast because we have been traveling out of the country for a year and the foods around the hotel were more of what we were craving. So, I can recommend this hotel if you find you need to be in the area and are looking for a comfortable, clean, friendly atmosphere. We will definitely make this our place of choice when the...
Read moreWe are always put on the backside of this hotel. The rooms on the backside of the hotel are the ones that have not been remodeled or taken care of as the rest. So the photos online only apply to some rooms not all!!! This specific stay along with the previous stay the room was honestly not properly cleaned. Im one that believes in seconds chances though so that's is where I went wrong. Meaning the floors had either not been swept or only been swept at. They put you in rooms depending on who you are or your race for example the rooms by the pool are for the whites, and non smokers, the rooms on the left side of the hotel coming from the office are for out of town workers and some whites, the back side is for blacks, Mexicans, and anyone they have an issue with such as myself and my husband. We pay the same price as anyone else staying at the hotel so we should be treated equally to every other person staying. It is worth the extra money to stay next door at the quality inn, completely remodeled and the rooms are amazingly nice or across the road at the western inn where the rooms have not been remodeled yet still in better condition than most the...
