I typically don’t write reviews while still staying at a hotel, but I felt it was necessary to share my experience. My stay at Delta Hotels Indianapolis East has been disappointing, and I expected much more from a Marriott property.
Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the condition of the property, which gave me a bad feeling. I considered turning around since I hadn’t paid yet, but ultimately decided to give it a chance. Once I entered the lobby, I waited approximately 10 to 15 minutes without any acknowledgment from the front desk staff.
When I finally got to my room, I noticed an unusual odor, but I was too tired to address it at the time. The following morning, I encountered a major issue: the sink was full of water and wouldn’t drain. I contacted the manager at 7 AM and was assured that someone would be sent right away. After two hours without any follow-up, I called again, only to find that no one had arrived. I chose to head to the gym while waiting for the situation to be resolved.
Upon returning to the hotel, I found the sink still full of water. I reached out to the manager on duty and explained that I needed to use the sink to prepare for an upcoming meeting. She mentioned that the maintenance person was occupied with other repairs and would get to my room as soon as possible. Frustrated, I requested to be moved to another room, which the manager agreed to do. She promised to bring a new set of keys, but I had to pack my bags first.
After waiting 20 minutes for the keys, it was clear that the quality of service did not meet expectations. Unfortunately, this property’s low price reflects its overall quality, which is not as appealing as depicted in the photographs. I hope this review helps others save...
Read moreMy company set me up in a room here for work out of town, and at first i thought this place was just fine. Clean, and good service. My girlfriend came to visit me for a night and her car was stolen out of the parking lot. Not only did the hotel not pull the camera footage up for me or the police, they did not inform any workers that a vehicle was stolen. Every time I’ve contacted the hotel, they have no idea what im talking about. The security lady who was “patrolling all night” never saw someone break in or see the car leave the lot, and after leaving my name and number and calling multiple times with the front desk and the security office, they never got back with any details. I was told by the front desk “this is the east side of town, we should expect that.” I was informed only a couple months before they had multiple vehicles get their catalytic converters stolen. Clearly security did not change, step up, or improve since then as a whole vehicle was broken into and stolen off of their lot. As a business who deals with new customers, or repeated customers like myself for work, that sees all kinds of different vehicles, you would think they would care enough for their own business to look into how a car that was parked 3 spots away from the front door with a camera pointed right at it could be stolen out of their lot (with a security person on “patrol”). But they would rather tell the customer tuff luck and go on with their day, simply because it seems they couldn’t care less to do their job. If you value your vehicle and any property in it, I would not recommend, and apparently the workers feel the same way as it is “the east side of town.” Surely they would say the same thing if it was their...
Read moreStayed here on a work trip, so I wasn't given much choice on where I could stay, but if I ever find myself back in Indy, I'm staying elsewhere.
For starters, the beds were rock hard. If that's your thing, then you're in luck. I found the comforter and sheets to be too short to fit on a queen bed somehow, as well.
The floors were dirty. The bathroom looked like all the cleaning staff did was wipe the counter. There were hairs throughout the bathroom that weren't mine.
The knob for the door latch was starting to fall out of the door and my deadbolt wouldn't budge.
The overall appearance of the room, without looking too deep, was nice though.
The halls are long and the design makes you feel like you're not moving as fast as you are, so if you're in a room far from the lobby, expect to feel like you're about to walk a mile.
There's only 1 microwave for the whole hotel for some reason.
The breakfast wasn't great. I've had better hotel breakfasts. I'd recommend visiting one of the Original Pancake Houses nearby.
The staff were hit and miss. Some of the front desk staff were nice. However, it felt like the cleaners didn't really do much. I'd see them often loitering around empty rooms with their kits by the door and 2-3 of them just sitting around chatting with each other or on their phone. While it's possible they were just taking a short break, I'd see this every time I'd see them, regardless of the time of day.
The location of the hotel is also a bit sketchy. There's also a lot of homeless about a half mile west at the major intersection, and a handful of the places around that intersection just feel unsafe for...
