The front desk staff member who checked us in was very nice. That is the only good thing I can say. The first room had hair all over and in the sink, so we asked for another. We travel with service dogs, so we had to move them and us and all our stuff to the second floor. That room was as bad or worse. The sink basin is white, so hairs were easily visible. The counter in the bathrooms is granite, so I wiped it, hoping maybe the hairs had just fallen off the cleaning rag or something. MULTIPLE WIPES came up filthy, brown dirt or grime, mixed with hairs and other debris. Every wipe was filthy after being passed over the counter. The toilet seat hadn’t been cleaned either and the towels were basically thrown on the rack,so we had no way of knowing if they were from a previous guest or were fresh. We got in late and having to move rooms and clean made it even later. Before 8 am, housekeeping staff were next to our room, allowing the doors to slam repeatedly, which of course alerted our service dogs. We did not sleep well at all and could barely use the bathroom because of how filthy it was, combined with the ridiculous corner sink and mirror that made it impossible to see directly into either mirror from close up. The entire stay was a nightmare. When I went through Expedia to request a refund, the hotel refused. Expedia gave me a small partial refund in One Key cash, but PLEASE DO NOT STAY at this hotel. You have no idea how filthy. I’ve never been in one this dirty before. I only have a couple of pics because I was too grossed out to take pictures of the wipes before putting them...
Read moreI went online while we were traveling and thought I had contacted the Jasper, TN hotel directly. When speaking with Bob, whose first language wasn’t English, I questioned him and he said that yes, I was speaking to the hotel. I asked for a ground floor room (he OK’d that) and gave him my Credit Card # (though he wouldn’t take my Best Western rewards info). We arrived to meet Michelle, who was very friendly. She said the reservation had been made by Priceline and that she didn’t have any ground floor rooms. So we took a second floor room. Husband went to get ice….six cubes fell out and that was that. The room was very hot (it was 96 outside), but no matter how low we turned the AC to cool things off, it always went back up to 72. We decided to settle in an watch some TV. DIRECTTV guide showed NO local stations. I had to call the front desk three times and still never got any help as to what the local channels were (she did call me once, but only to tell me we couldn’t park our vehicle and motorcycle trailer in the parking lot. Husband had to park it across the street in another parking lot). The TV guide showed the majority of the channels weren’t available. Nobody with the hotel was interested in helping. I went to DIRECTTV website and learned that the hotel doesn’t have the MPEG equipment to offer local channels. I didn’t bother telling the hotel staff. As for the room, it was clean. Bed fine, bathroom fine. Found out that the $76.50 hotel room after taxes was $103! We are strictly Best Westerners, but this is a facility we won’t...
Read moreI checked in around 3-4am, and asked the desk clerk if I could check out at noon. She was polite and told me that's fine and to put the do not disturb sign on my door to ensure housekeeping didn't bother me earlier. She said she'd put a note in the system, as well. Not only was I woken up at around 9am by housekeeping, the woman was loudly banging on my door even though there was a do not disturb inserted in the key slot. I let her know I was checking out at noon and she apologized. Around 10am she was shouting on a Walkie talkie to someone outside my door, which woke me up again. At 1030am, she starts banging on my door again, and even argued with me that the front desk staff told her I was checked out and told me I needed to talk to them to clear things up, and continued to make noise outside my room again. I called the front desk and spoke with a man (Robert?), who told me there was no note about a late check out—but I let him know I discussed this with the night check in staff, had a do not disturb sign on my door, AND had already told the housekeeping woman I was checking out at noon when she interrupted my sleep earlier. She should have shared the with him. I'm traveling long distance and am irritated and tired. I've never had housekeeping harass and argue with me about a late check out that I had confirmed upon check in and had a do not disturb sign on the door for back up. I don't feel I should have to pay for this lousy stay which will be me driving 8 hours today while lacking sleep and groggy due to your...
