I’m so embarrassed that I had sent people here for my wedding. I can’t tell you how many complaints I heard about this place. Many of the guests that had reserved rooms ended up having to wait hours for their rooms (that had been booked well in advance) to be cleaned when they went in the evening the day before and of the wedding so they could check in. (Including my new grandparents that arrived 7PM last night after the wedding and were not able to get into a room until 10, and my brother/sister in law with their 5 year old that also had to wait hours for their room to be cleaned Friday night.) What really has me upset is Friday night they had told my elderly, handicapped godparents when they went to check into their room at nearly midnight that they wouldn’t be able to host them at all because they still had 12 rooms to clean and no one to clean them. They were sent across to the Candlewood Suites to stay even though they had reserved their room weeks ago. They then had to pay for last minute weekend rates at the other hotel which was nearly $150 more for them on top of the incredible inconvenience to them and myself the night before my wedding since my mother had booked the room for them with her card as they don’t use cards, so I had to drive at midnight from Eagan the night before my wedding to get them checked in and pay extra because we had to scramble last minute to find them a place to sleep. I’m so embarrassed and so upset and will be spreading the word to stay far from this place and will be making sure that my guests leave reviews on their stay as well. They made absolutely no attempt to make amends for this situation. At the very least, a call earlier in the day would have been much appreciated. Understaffing is understandable and I wouldn’t have been so upset if we had been given even a courtesy call to let us know earlier in the day that they wouldn’t be able to accommodate and our guests should book elsewhere, but we were given no notice and hardly even an apology. Please, do not depend on them for your wedding guests!
Edit (5/11/2023): I was just informed they still charged my mom’s card for the room my godparents were unable to check...
Read moreVery nice, clean, and well-maintained hotel. Good breakfast and plenty of parking. However, the night I stayed the staff working were sub par. I arrived at 1pm on a Saturday. Less than 12 vehicles in the parking lot, and I walked in and waited at the counter for 5 minutes with nobody there. Finally, someone appeared from behind the partition and when I said I'm checking in, she said I couldn't check in until 4pm. "It's a very busy day with graduation parties and such." Didn't look at her computer for 1 open room, nothing! So, I go back to my vehicle and sit for 45 minutes and then I go online and check in on my phone. Get a choice of about 12 - 14 rooms AVAILABLE and I choose one. I get a digital key on my phone, walk in past the still unoccupied front desk, go to my room and walk in. If I'd taken her advice I would have sat for 2 to 3 more hours before checking in. THEN, after unpacking, I go to use the bathroom and the toilet doesn't flush its intended material to its intended destination. I go to the front desk and wait ONCE AGAIN and someone appears, and I tell them of the problem, and they said they would send maintenance to my room. Approximately 5 minutes later, a guy from maintenance shows up and mumbles something about "toilet not flushing" and hands me a plunger and leaves! SO, being a Tim the Toolman Taylor fan, I go to work and unplug THEIR toilet, walk back to the front desk and place the plunger behind the front desk and go back to my room. Needless to say, I'm not sure I'll be returning to this hotel in the near future, even though the facilities are very nice. And NO, I'm not...
Read moreFirst, don’t map to this location from the Priceline app on an iPhone. It took us to a trucking yard before we figured out that Priceline had sent us 5 min the wrong way. There is fast food very nearby which was convenient. The front desk staff didn’t seem particularly interested in helping us. The young man must have been in training and the gal in glasses didn’t offer him much help. I reminded him twice I was a Hilton Honors member before he took my information. A lot of good it did! I didn’t earn pts for my stay and this is the first Hilton hotel that has ever declined to give me waters and cookies upon check-in. The gal in glasses told me I had to be a diamond member or higher to get those benefits. She relented and gave us water when I said that it was the first time I was ever told that and I travel frequently for business. I was handed keys with no instructions on where to go. When we found our room, it was neat to see a personalized welcome message on the television and the room was immaculate aside from the bubbling wallpaper and water damaged window. The TV had common streaming apps but you had to log into your own accounts. Who is going to log into their Netflix account at a hotel? I have always stayed at Hampton hotels because their beds are incredibly comfortable, but this was like sleeping on a futon. I am not exaggerating! Rock hard mattress. My step-mom couldn’t sleep on it. I wouldn’t pay half of the $197 I paid to sleep on those beds again. Will be finding a new spot for my frequent trips to the Northfield area...
